It was in the Sunday People so won't be true.

I'd rather we spent the money on an area where we need strengthening like the defence but you could never complain about seeing him back in a Pools shirt

If by the end of January we have Tommy Miller scoring goals from midfield, Dimi in nets, and Boydy up top I'll get the old fella out.

you all slated Wilson for signing midfielders when they were not needed, so what the difference here?

Bad idea. the Tommy Miller that left here was excellent and offered sackfuls of goals and lots of running. The one who could be coming back is not even able to squeeze his way into a weak Ipswich team and hasn't done anything for years - other than earn big money.
We need a centre back, a keeper and two full-backs - not another drain on the finances.

Here we go. all our yesterdays. A midfielder the same age as Mr Humphries and probably equally as mobile. Dimi I can see the point of, but a couple of full backs is a bigger priority than a cameo role for a former favourite. We should be concentrating on what's best for the team, not pretending there's a space for yet another midfielder that wasn't needed under Wilson and shouldn't be a priority under Turner.

i was not advocating the move just pointing out it has been on the cards for some time so it probably won't happen but hufc do take their time over deals unless it is departures

I'd take one out of the three (Dimi) then invest any cash we have in some defensive support.

Our midfield ain't too bad anyway.

Miller may have one or two good seasons in him - maybe having a look at him on a short term loan would give us an idea if he can still perform in his old role to the same effect

hard to disagree with Snowy. Miller was a great player for Pools but returns rarely work out. We've already got a couple of players living on past glories, we don't need any more. That said if he is available on a loan its worth a tryout.

sctatchinghead

He's played in every game he's been fit and available for Ipswich this season, yesterday for example.

so who do you drop to accomodate him ?

we already have ben clark, liddle, sweeney, jones, power and rowell that can play centre midfield ?

Fair point, we probably don't need him in terms of the balance of the squad but I think he'd still be a fair player at this level, and hunger wouldn't be a problem he's a lad who loved playing for Pools.

He's probably someone we don't need in terms of the position he plays, but every time a genuine (if it is) chance comes up to sign a player of his quality I think you have to go for it.

imo Tommy would bring a spark to the squad and improve gates, a feel good factor for all. i cant comment on the current squad because unfortunatley i dont get to many games, but if your telling me Tommy is not as good as the current slection of Mid-Fielders then i would agree its arguable if it would be a good move to bring him back, but to be honest im struggling with the concept that he is not far better than anyone in that position at the moment.

No doubt i will be told !!
