And my opinion

Chris Turner 2/1
Shouldn't go backwards, ok on temporary basis, but been out of managership to long

Nigel Clough 6/1
Local lad been in charge Burton for approx 10 years and done reasonable job, only 42 may be worth giving him a go

Stan ternant 6/1
Not for me

Steve Fallon 8/1
Currently in charge of Histon, and we all know what they did in the last round of the FA Cup, also won 4 promotions with Histon in approx 10 years, we all know Pools tend to go for people we not heard of. Worth a go possibly

John Ward 9/1
Another not for me

Aidy Boothroyd 10/1
I named him as a good call on day Wilson was sacked, did great job at Watford, young and up and coming, still my prefered choice and worth a little gamble at 10s

Graeme Jones 10/1
Another local lad, working as assistant at Swansea, relatively young(only38). Another Pools could name as should be ambitious

David Hodgson 12/1
A few years ago maybe, another not for me

Ian Holloway 12/1
Took QPR up from our division and Bristol Rovers to the play off's. Another who I wouldn't mind seeing in at Pools'

Ritchie Barker 14/1
Can you see it, I can't

Brian Little 16/1
Another not for my liking, maybe a few years ago again

Dave Penney 18/1
Yes if if it just to wind the loids up

Joe Allon 20/1
Lot Poolies would say yes, have to say I be undecided

Mark Cooper 22/1
I will presume it the Cooper who played for us in 1996/97 another who Pools may appoint

Gordon Watson 25/1
The bus drives itself, a possibility alongside Turner, well worth a go

Alan Shearer 25/1
Not a cat in hell's chance

Neale Cooper 25/1
See Alan Shearer

Peter Beardsley 33/1
Hat goes in the ring every time Pools' want a new manager, maybe with contacts (and fact of who he is) could attract some reasonable players even on loan from the Mags

Jeff Stelling 50/1
POK be over the moon, but can we afford to buy his contract from Sky and Channel 4. Once more see Alan Shearer

Stan ternant 6/1
Not for me. Agreed

Steve Fallon 8/1
Oh god no.

John Ward 9/1
The worst option of the lot.

Aidy Boothroyd 10/1
Good shout, but he wouldnt come.

Graeme Jones 10/1
Never heard of him

David Hodgson 12/1
rolfl

Ian Holloway 12/1
I would love this guy.

Ritchie Barker 14/1
The second worst option.

Brian Little 16/1
He's finished
Dave Penney 18/1
Yes if if it just to wind the loids up. Agreed again

Joe Allon 20/1
No chance. Burned his bridges

Mark Cooper 22/1
Not good enough

Gordon Watson 25/1
Interesting one.
Alan Shearer 25/1
Horrible geordie 'lovely lovely person'

Neale Cooper 25/1
I would weep tears of joy if Cooper came back.

Peter Beardsley 33/1
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Why does Nigel Clough always get linked? Has he ever achieved anything as a manager? I don't give a fck what his dad did!

Apart from the fact that his Dad was quite possibly the most famous English football manager ever to work at 'Pools !

I think we should do the following :

Leave Turner where he is as Director of sport

Get Gordon Watson & Colin West back as 2 main coaches and then have them 2 and Turner making the decisions. well mainly watson and west and Turner overseeing everything and making sure the decisions being made are correct. so then we will have a 3 way management team. Watson could take the reserve team and then help Turner and West with the 1st team aswel.

It seems more than likely that Turner is going to get it till the end of season so i was thinking that maybe this 3 way management team could work wonders and still keep Turner is his current role.

Back to the glory days if this happens i think as all 3 of these know what this club needs and will work there nuts off in order to achieve it!

So instead having Turners wage to pay we end up with 3 managers wages, cant see that myself.

You can't manage by committee, which is what you would be trying to do there.

They wouldnt all be in management roles though. I would put Watson as "Reserve Team Coach"

West as "First Team Coach" and then Turner overlooking the 2 of them. so basically Watson is reserve team manager which would mean helping on the training pitch during the week whilst turner is doing his director of sport role! so it would be a lot less wages than we have been giving Wilson and Butterworth and would be replacing them with 2 others. So it is not having 3 managers at all.

So what you meant was give West the managers job & Watson the assistant.

Mark Proctor anyone? He won the FA Youth cup with Boro so i dont think he'd be scared to throw Rowell and Tymon in. Could be a good appointment IMO.

The club seem to have a knack of finding managers with little/no first team experience - Turner, Newell & Cooper. All did well for us. Maybe they can find another this time.

Is Butterworth staying? Is he assisting Turner ?

Cooper had been in charge of Ross County for six seasons before he took us over.

Newell did well for us? sctatchinghead
Scotty had no managerial experience and look what happened there.

IOR have had some success with managerial appointments but not as much as people like to think in all honesty
