I guess you'll have to get back together in 20 years for the anniversary reunion tour

I got to know the lads during last summer's Poolie Pride thing when through sheer bloodymindedness we managed to put a record in the top 30. Thinking back when we sat down and decided that we were going to do this we had absolutely no idea how and its still a crazy idea that somehow worked.

Through all of it, all of the lads were ultra supportive despite their other commitments and in retrospect although it was worth it to get their name in the Guiness book of hit singles, no one actually knew ( and even less believed) that it would happen, lets face it at the start it was a bit pie in the sky. Nevertheless the lads gave of their time and effort to put the thing together for the right reasons and there is a big bunch of kids that are grateful that they did.

Cheers lads, good luck in whatever you do next.

Enjoyed many, many P.K's gigs down the years, but the one that stands out was in The Mill House pub, shortly after The Loids had been beaten at Wembley in the play off final.....as we entered we noticed a hand written sign on the door that read " Unlucky Darlo, seeya next year lads!!" or something of a similar sentiment

The place was absolutely rocking! clap clap clap

When I saw the title of this thread I thought of something very unsavoury.

i was at that gig and me & my mates still laugh about 1 particular song that night, the killers were in full flow belting out Roy Orbison's Pretty Woman when half way through the song, they suddenly stopped and Phil announced "just to let you know ladies & gentlemen, right about now there's thousands of Darlo fans getting home, and theyre absolutley sick as fook !!" then belted out the rest off the song, with the audience in stitches. Superb !! rolfl clap rolfl clap rolfl clap

Sad news phil, had many a good night out watching the killers

Good luck to you and the lads
P.S. a farewell gig is a must, please post details!!

I've seen the PK's about 4 or 5 times , usually as something to do with Pools or Pools fans and I've enjoyed every single performance, you guys are legendary amongst all Pools fans and will be sadly missed.
Hopefully someone will help to organise ONE EXTRA GIG for you where we , the fans of Hartlepool United Football Club can turn up in our numbers to pay tribute to a group of local lads who must have entertained at least half the population of this town in the last 13 years.
If anyone is planning to organise anything with/for the lads please let me know if I can help, only don't give me any big jobs 'cos you know what I'm like, always keen but fecking useless at actually committing !

A sad day indeed but all good things must come to an end, WELL DONE LADS clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap

For those who don't know, Mr Crimson is Brendan - the band's keyboard banger. A sort of Gilbert O Sullivan without the cap.

The truth is we are forming a new tribute band.

Me and PC only managed to get our selves to 3 of your gigs. A HUDSA do when Neil Cooper talked to the fans (or is my memory playing tricks on me?), Paul Mullen's Memorial do at the Woodcutter, and Muttley's wedding do in the Clippy Club. We had you pencilled in for our 25th Anniversary celebrations in June 2008, we'll have to have a rethink, or would you consider your first comeback?

Surely a final gig in the Borough Hall would be a sellout, maybe alongside our favourite clubs joint awards and promotion celebration night. We can dream can't we.

I'll second that!!

How about it Phil? Will the lads be up for it?

If we can get a CD into the charts, arranging a farewell gig should be a piece of piss

We have lots of contacts - daresay we could fill quite a big hall if we set our minds to it

Any takers?

At a certain gig in the summer, a request was made for Never Say Die. It was declined because they had forgotten how it goes. True Story!

Best of Luck lads
