Im moving house soon and wondering about giving mobile broadband a try? (I mean one of those dongle things which you plug into a laptop or desktop pc)

I would be really grateful if anyone who has signed up for such a deal could give some recommendations. Are they shiit?

check the speeds and limitations more than the cost - a freelaptop normally means the deals shite

They are good for what they are but not as a replacement for cable or household broadband. Typical speeds are about half a meg which is ok but not great. They are also susceptible to signal strength, if your can only recieve 2g GPRS where you live then expect to go back to dial up speeds.

In which case get the mobile broadband if you can, BT is ridiculously priced. About £50 a month if you include the landline that you won't use.

seriously, watch for the payments tagged on if you go over your limit

I use 3 and had the £15 per month package and soon went over my monthly limit, although I only used it to listen to BBCi radio and ended up having to change to £30 per month package
