I was a little bit confused by the headline on that article. I could see the point they were making but even though he has got some stick from sections of our 'support' to my knowledge he's never been booed by Pools fans.

I can't think of the last time an individual Pools player was booed by his own fans.

Matty is one of the few Pools players I actually admire.

Iv said before I used to slate him and heckle him and whichever manager decided to play him but the way he never let his head drop, always stuck at it, never gave up wanting the ball or trying to take people on, ignored the heckling, never moaned and improved to the performances he is giving now just has to be admired.

I was wrong about him and I hope he gets regular games at left WING and we see him continuing to improve cos out of all the players at Pools, id rather see him suceed than the rest.

Dont get me wrong, he aint the finished article but this looks like being his best season so far and his crossing is awesome at the minute. He is also the only one im enjoying watching at the moment.

Stuck a few quid on him first goal tomorrow.

Go Matty!

No individual player was booed, the manager was booed for a substitution (because he brought Foley on instead of Monkhouse). Nobody booed Foley like the Arsenal fans did every time Eboue touched the ball, I don't recall that happening at the Vic.
