Have you ever drove after a drink not lashed but in your mind you know you might not pass the breathe test if stopped.
or drove after a heavy session the night before.

When I was younger I was probably often over the limit driving to work on a morning.

I fundamentally disagree with drink driving though, and would never even consider doing it in terms of coming out of the pub and driving home.

once after a recording session where I drank 3 bottles of wine. I said I was gonna kip in the van but must've drovr home....woke up in bed next morning with absolutely no recollection of how I got there - but the van was outside!

not proud of that...... :uhoh:

Once only, when I was 18, drove me and a mate to the pub about 2 miles away on my meterbike, got bladdered and crashed right outside the Navy base on the way home.
Neither of us got hurt and the police didn't get called in fact all it cost me was 2 new mirrors but that was my one and only time.

There wont be many who will admit to it but i guess most of us have drove to work on a Monday after a good Sunday session. After all going to the pub to watch the 1 o'clock match then the 4 0'clock match then to finish the night off watch the Spanish game . You cant do that and not have a few bevvy's can you.

Dont you just love Sundays

True story and I'm not proud to admit it. I failed a roadside test about 15 years ago after drinking eight pints of Guinness on an empty stomach. I was pissed and couldn't talk properly. I was arrested and taken to the station, where the sergeant explained that they take the lowest reading and over the limit is 35 but they only prosecute at 40 in the Cleveland force, others do it at 35. I blew into the maching twice and the readings were 39 and 40 (can't remember which one I did first). I overheard the two cops at the door who arrested me say "fucking hell". I looked round and they were shaking their heads and cursing. I was then frantically trying to work out what was going on until I realised "hold on a minute here, I've passed by the skin of my knackers haven't I?" I said to the sergeant "Am I free to go then?". He nodded and I went to 42 - and drank water for the rest of the night. The next day I realised what a pillock I had been and how lucky I was. Don't know how I passed but I did. I'm not a big drinker, six pints is normally my limit.

You'd had 8 pints and you were only just over the limit?

Did you have those 8 pints spaced over 2 weeks or something?

Why i asked the question.
I bumped into a pal that i have not seen for many years and he said remember when we travalled the country in the late 70s early 80s watching pools in transit vans stopping on the way home for a session and then drive back and it was acceptable back then but now thinking back what damage we could have caused. sadx

I once had a heavy office night out and kipped at a mates. I got about 2 hours sleep and the next day when I drove to work I could barely react to anything on the roads. I was SO scared of getting stopped. I left about 5 seconds between me and the car infront.

Wont do it again. It is so irresponsible

Nope. I would say it was around seven hours. I got stopped going from the White House to 42. The machine said I was only just over the limit but I was drunk.

I was around 11 stone at the time. Like I said, God knows how I passed.

Wont do it again. It is so irresponsible to even consider spoons with Tree, though I still have love for him.
