Who's idea was to rearrange the Leicester game for January 6th!?

Straight after the Christmas period and three days after the Stoke game, do they not want the crowds to improve? Another sub 4,000 gate it is then......

Maybe Wilson told them he needed it playing as soon as possible because he didn't want fixture congestion affecting his promotion push?

We should have rearranged it for next season when Brown is fit.

Seriously though, who made this decision I'd love to know!?

The decision is absolutely laughable. Why rearrange so quickly, and as other's have said in the Christmas period, when there is always a rash of games.

Games now on 13th/19th/26th/28th December

3rd/6th/10th/16th

A grand total of 8 games in 35 days.

What with our injury list and players close to suspension

Monkhouse.....4 bookings
Sweeney.......3 bookings
Liddle............3 bookings

Does anyone within the club bother to check simple little stats like them before rearranging especially when we have such a small squad, which due to injuries is smaller, what if Porter's injury takes a longer to heal than originally thought, we go into a period of games like that without our only real threat of scoring.

Sack whoever rearranged the game for 6th january comes to mind

I might change it slightly for my version...

Dear Mr Hodcroft

I am one of the 3,000 or so losers still bothering to turn up to watch Pools play at home. Just to let you know I won't be there much in December and January and I suspect that quite a few others won't be either. You see, despite what you said at the AGM, it seems that either you or one of the numbskulls who you employ REALLY DO think we are all loaded.

Get fooked.

Yours sincerely

Mr Ripper.

with respect to attendances and giving ourselves the best chance to win, we have shot ourselves badly in the foot. Why hasn't Danny Wilson intervened as manager of the team? Surely he is the one who should have the last say on this matter?

I agree totally. Doesnt the FA have a say in the re-arranged fixtures aswell? Or have I got the wrong end of the story there?

I would imagine a fair few were looking forward to the Leicester game and a fair few will be missing Stoke for the Leicester game and vice versa, Plain daft decision at the end of the day!

It's ball-all to do with Pools, I'm assured.
it's not the big team syndrome again is it,leicester leaning on the league so they don't get a fixture pileup?

Laughing at my own jokes sctatchinghead ... what jokes...? You are the one who compounds other peoples frustration by constantly saying you're glad you've got a season ticket, hence the 'pull the ladder up I'm alright Jack' comments, I was merely laughing at how I took the advice you gave me, but how you didn't think it was such a good idea when you had to put your own advice into practice ...... now that is funny rolfl

For the "HEADS MUST ROLL FOR THIS!!" campaign members, amidst the wailing & gnashing of teeth, let me just leave this here

Of the League 1 / 2 clubs whom the 3rd round affects, the current situation is

Games rearranged from 3rd to 6th Jan

Hartlepool
Crewe
Macclesfield
Scunthorpe

Game rearranged for 13th Jan

Millwall

No date arranged as yet
Southend
Orient (playing Southend)
Cheltenham
EDIT - Gillingham

(Chesterfield & or Bournemouth may be added too)

What doesn't as yet appear to have been considered is the actual PROCESS by which a game is rearranged. I don't know what it is, and I suspect neither do a lot of others on here (you may guess, but do you actually KNOW?). I can't find any rules & regs covering this online.

My suspicion would be that the League have exerted quite a lot of pressure here, given the number of other games taking place on the same night. I haven't ruled out the possibility that someone at the club may be at fault, but a large majority of you appear to have totally ruled out the possibility that the club are not at fault.

Or maybe all clubs are employing numpties eh? At this rate there'll be more heads rolling than when Henry VIII was around.

I dont think the league are bothered about our failing attendances! I also dont think Leicester will be bothered when it is played, i'm sure they'll have a far bigger squad than our own.
I also don't think the club had a say in this, in fact i'd bet they are very pished off considering if it had been played on saturday 3rd it would have been a 6000+ crowd.

Don't blame the club, lets get the facts first.

I think the general rule of thumb is that a game should be rearranged for the soonest possible date. I am sure there must be some leeway to this. I'll drop an email to the FL and see if they can explain the process.
