This morning driving past the house at Belmont that was used in the film Get Carter (it was the house of gangster Cliff Brumby, played by Bryan Moseley aka Alf Roberts) it looked as though bulldozing was imminent!
Very sad indeed to see it go, next up no doubt will be the iconic car park at Gatesheeeed!

Been up for sale ages, won't be long before we see "appartments" on the land!
It did belong to Charlie Newton, CN been the local scrap man God rest his soul!
Down sarf that house and gateshead car park along with Billy Elliot's House at Easington Colliery would have been preserved and a blue plaque put on it! But not up here lets doze it an built on it!

I'd better get up there with me camera before it goes then!!

I watched a programme featuring Michael Palin when he went round the houses in Shepherd's Bush, to present the householders with plaques to commemorate various Monty Python sketches filmed in the said abodes.
Gas cooker sketch plaque on the wall - quality!!!

Went past the "iconic" Get Carter mansion at Belmont this morning and it's now a pile of rubble....gone...flattened...no more.... very sad!
