Aye, I'll give you that, it's probably the worst song he did and that was more or less at the end of his career.

Apart from Eurovision (twice), the Christmas hits, Millenium Prayer, the Young Ones (the parody), and Summer Holiday, except Wired for Sound, were there any really big hits?

By the way, that bad record earlier on...now that is cheesy.

I suspect it is quite Germanic or Scandinavian in origin.

He's had about fifteen number ones and only Elvis has spent a higher aggregate of days in the British charts, so I'd suggest yes POK.

Fook knows how mind

To the real question, do you reckon he's an uphill gardener Mr Kent or just a bachelor boy?

As I say I think his greatest accomplishments were the two Eurovision entries (evidence now suggests he should have won in 1968), the Christmas Hits and Summer Holiday.

Millenium Prayer was just the Lord's Prayer set to Auld Lang Syne - not very original, but the basic message was there, which eight years into the new millenium we still haven't remembered.

Probably Cliff Richard, Elton John, George Michael, Will Young and Queen would be my guess as to his favourites.

He probably has their posters on his bedroom wall and everything.

That's a charming question, that, PJ.

He'll always be a legend with everyone in this country. He's a good Christian and he has helped us give Eurovision the history it has today - the reason why some people went into the business in the first place.

His hits are quite catchy and appropriate - I still remember Wycombe Wanderers playing "Congratulations" over the tannoy after we got promoted. Brilliant that. clappp

In no particular order:

The Beautiful South
Status Quo
Gabriella Cilmi
Katy Perry
Sebastien Tellier

I have no real favourites as such. I find myself picking things of the smorgasbord that the music industry today has become.

I've just looked up mine for 13th April 1990 - The German Eurodance group Snap! were No 1 for 2 weeks with "The Power" (Darts player Phil Taylor's walk-out tune) - great song - and then the day after my birthday, it was Vogue by Madonna !

Well, there's a greatest hits CD out that I might get. I have ben able to download their songs free from the web.

But I love "Whatever You Want", "Down Down" and the one of course played at the play-off finals "Rockin' All Over The World".

I tell you who else are underestimated - Englebert Humperdinck.

I also watched a whole night of programming on BBC Fourt on Friday about Nana Mouskouri - great Greek entertainer she is. You don't really understand the songs in Greek but at her best, she was class.

I also liked Snap's other great hit "Rhythm is a Dancer" that was used for the great advert for Drench mineral water invoving Brains from Thunderbirds and Phil Collins is great as well especially with the song played in the background with the gorilla with the drums....

I can feel him coming in my arse tonight...
