if that's the case there'll be no more missing fans coming back until January - and they don't deserve a slap

I read in a paper earlier in the week that Ian Harte was without a club, surely he could do a job for us at this level, he is training with leeds to stay fit.

Just a thought like.

desperate times call for desperate measures. If he's fit and still has something about him, then why not? He could hardly be worse, and after all he IS a specialist left back. Surely worth a punt to the end of the season, and he'd take the wages on offer because it's better than getting f-uck all!!! Why not indeed?

I'd rather have sweeney trying to play both positions than that waste of a shirt in the squad.

Positive. The deadline for emergency loans passed on the day ALB was banned for three games.

Janice Cockfiners

McCunnie
Collins
Nelson
Humphreys

Sweeney
Clark
Liddle
Robson

Kyle
Monkhouse

I reckon that side could get something at Hereford. I'd seriously consider Monky up front he has the strength to hold the ball up, link up, and he knows where the goal is. Mackay away from home is a no go for me.

I'd be tempted to play 4-5-1 as follows;

Budtz
McCunnie Nelson Collins Humphreys
Sweeney Liddle Clark Monkhouse Robson
Kyle

Sweeney and Robson are better used in attacking roles. This wouldn't necessarily be a defensive formation if Sweeney and Robson work hard, as they are capable of, and get up and down the flanks and supply crosses for Kyle.

We playing stupid money for kyle so id be tempted to steer clear from anymore Leeds cast offs. Look at the last left back we got from there

His last club was Blunderland but he was released by them, he's only training with Leeds to keep fit, i think if Leeds were interested in him he would have been used in the squad by now.

Looking at our current defensive displays i think it could be a very good move for pools to bring him in.

he has a cracking left foot, can play anywhere on the left and centre mid, once we offload kyle we should have a spare few quid to offer. He's without a club at the minute and like someone said earlier in the thread he'd probably settle for something rather than nothing which he is getting at present.

He lives up at Wynyard doesn't he, he definitely was living up there about twelve months ago cos he bought his house off my friend's dad. He moved some of his stuff in while he was living there, he had a jukebox that cost a few grand. Tacky as fck though

I think its worth the risk, even a contract from January to the end of the season would do, he can't be any worse than what we have, bags of experience too.

He was playing in the Premiership just over six months ago, he practically lives in the town, has loads of experience, would fill an area we've been desperate to fill for two years, can score goals, and provide dead balls that would create endless problems with the likes of Kyle, Collins and Nelse.

It's a shame he'll want a few quid but I'd be happy if he signed but sadly can't see it

Line up has to be something like........

Budtz
McCunnie
Nelson
Collins
Humphreys
Sweeney
Clark
Liddle
Monkhouse
Kyle
McKay

and i have managed to leave Robson out :uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh:

A lot of people on here slag Wilson off for putting square pegs in round holes, then suggest Monkey up front?!?!?!!
besides a front 2 of Monkhouse & Kyle will result in constant long balls?!?1?!?!

if we were going to try a player up front who normally doesn't play there then surely we shouldn't look past Matty Robson. He has pace to burn, is very direct and has a fucking quality shot on him.

But for this match we should keep as an experienced team as we can

So that's me you're having a go at then. We have to put square pegs in round holes as we are down to the bare bones and my personal opinion is that Mackay isn't good enough. Probably the best suggestion I've seen is 4-5-1 in the post below mine. I'd rather see Tymon up front but we all know this is a pointless suggestion as Wilson refuses to give young players an opportunity. Monkhouse is a footballer even though he's tall he prefers the ball into feet. He's played up front before for Rotherham so I don't think it's that ridiculous a suggestion, it's just my opinion.

If Danny Wilson doesn't start with Robson next Saturday then I'll be running across Edgar Street pitch and setting fire to him.

Why are people still obsessed with Monkhouse? He's done sod all in ages. Robson has been excellent for the last few weeks but fck that lets put Monky back in.

I don't want to see him upfront either but I'd rather have him start than Mackay in all honesty.

The form of Matty Robson is one of the only positive things going on at Pools at the moment, he was tryings things yesterday he wouldn't have dared before like that little back heeled flick second half. I hope he can keep it going and keep getting better. He should not be playing anywhere other than the left wing either. Leave him where he is best he deserves that shirt more than Monkhouse at the moment.

You're quite right TPP, I'd quite happily supply the matches and suitable accelerant if he left him out.

I mentioned the possibility of going for Harte on transfer deadline day.

Rules state you can still sign players who are not contracted to clubs. There must be some avalable, who are fit that we could bringin on a month to month contract or pay as you play.

Tough one innit after the shite we've watched recently.

I'd probably have to plump for;

GK- Cook
RB- McCunnie
LB- Liddle
CB- Clark
CB- Collins
RM- Sweeney
LM- Robson
CM- Jones
CM- Humphreys
CF- Kyle
CF- Foley  bbolt

Pick that eleven and stick with it for a few games to give them a chance to gel. Unless we can get Porter fit quicker.

As for Foley up front, we're short of options. The last 2 games have shown Mackay's level and it aint League One. Porter and Brown injured. And to be fair to Foley he did ok up front when coming on as sub against the likes of West Brom. Absolute gash in midfield I agree, waste of a shirt etc, but why not give him a few games in his supposed best position, feeding off Kyle and with the "last chance" message clearly spelt out to see what he can do.

It appears that Jones is suspended next week, so I'd put Mr Power in the midfield in his place.

Great message to send out that, you haven't even chosen the team we the most experience Mackay might be older but he's inexperienced and out of his depth. In fact the experince thing just doesn't stand up at all really Saturday was his 154th game Pools making him more experienced than Budtz, Liddle, Jones, and Mackay!

50/60 years ago when all clubs only had 15 players altogether they all managed to play - find out what's not on the banned substance list and pump them full of it.
We need 3 points - Hereford won't give 2 fu-cks about our flu problem, same as we wouldn't if they had one.
