Budtz 7: Did everything that was asked of him. Immaculate handling, one cock up with his kicking, reluctant at times to release it quickly but i don't care. Did ok.

Sweeney 7: I like him at right back, and he's got a great engine. Can't remember the last right back we had who was as lively going forward.

Nelson 7: Did well. Seemed a bit more determined and decisive today. can't fault his effort.

Collins 7: Much better. Looked more like he did when he first arrived. Won most stuff in the air, and defended decisively, which is what we've been missing.

Matty 8: MOM by a street, whilst not being a defender at all. Quick as fook, would almost be a match for me over the first twenty before he tires  . Superb crosses that deserved someone on the end of them.

Humphs 7: No-fookin-where near as bad as some people are claiming. Non-stop running and some excellent defending. couple of misplaced passes that the wankers pounced on from the terraces.

Jones 6: only by his own standards. strangely off the pace, and gave the ball away too much. heard two utter tossers claiming "that jones is always shite" which is utter utter garbage. can do better.

Liddle 7: did ok in a destructive sense by attempting to break up their play, but still nowhere near as good as he can be. at his best he's one of the best players in the division.

Mackay 5: I like the lad, but he was poor today. To be fair we didn't play to his strengths and get their back four turned round. should have scored but tried to be too clever.

Porter 5: obviously not fully fit from the whistle. if he doesn't play, we never get out of second gear.

Kyle 6: the new escape goat. had a poor first half, but then everybody did. better in the second and won much more, but wasn't helped by joel not being there when he did win the headers. anybody who calls him either a)lazy or 2)shite is a fookin muppet. the vast majority of his touches are superb, and his link up play reminds me of the mighty mr daly  . too many tosswits are simply waiting for one mistake or misplaced pass.

SUBS

baby david 5: completed a pass and controlled the ball twice. progress.

THE VERDICT

utter dog wank. we played like eleven strangers for forty-five minutes, improved marginally in the second. i was pleased to see 4-3-3, but it was shit in the end. matty and nelse were the pick of a bad bunch and budtz did ok.

Jesus, Mary and Joesph.

I normally appreciate aido's comments but today I'm questioning whether he was there.

I'm sure you were taking the piss when you gave Richie his mark. I have never seen a player give the ball away as often as him.

Kyle was fucking toss. I said when he signed it was crazy to sign a player on his money for an area we didn't already need strengthening and regrettably I've been proved right.

Liddle- one of the best players in the division? YOU WHAT???!! He has played about 70 games at this level and I'd say he has been average in about 60 of them.

We kept a clean sheet and never looked like conceding so I can understand the two central midfielders getting 6 or 7. The other ratings defy belief.

My ratings:
Budtz-6.5
Sweeney-6
Nelse-6.5
Collins-6.5
Humphreys-5
Robson-7
Liddle-6
Jones-6
Mackay-5
Porter-5
Kyle-5

If its true and Kyle cup ties himself then he should be sent back. We are paying his wages and he should make himself available for every game we are playing. Its disgraceful.
On the match i'm liking Robson every game he plays, he gives 100% and his attacking play is a joy to watch. Also happy with Budz, he looked comfortable coming for crosses and apart from one miskick he did fine.
I'd still swap liddle with sweeney, there is absolutely no quality at all in the midfield, i've said before, Beech, Cullen, Pedersen, Miller who have we had since?
Its going to be a long winter, we need porter back asap or I really think we could be in a relegation fight by february.

Budtz collected nearly all the high balls into the box today and it was a massive improvement on the recent performances of Barrett it has to be said. He commanded the six yard box well today I thought, and made a good save going to ground in the first half to nick the ball off Rogers' feet when he was clean through. Kicking is bad but nowhere near as bad as Barrett.
Collins played reasonably well, after a sticky period for him. He also makes good cross field passes from the back to the wide positions, similar to Ben Clark, when he's on his game. Nelson did ok overall
Going forward we have lost a lot of our panache because Brown gives so much to the side. Even on a quiet day for him, he's always occuppying the opposition's left hand side and allows other players to get forward. He can also beat two and three men easily, takes opponents out of the game and pulls them out of position constantly when we attack. He's also a great finisher and a team like Pools can't have him taken out of the side and expect to be as good - he's a huge, huge player for HUFC and we are going to look like the Yeovils and Cheltenhams from now on because now -like us - they don't have anybody as good as him in their teams.
Humphreys passing was off beam in the second half I thought.
Porter looked like he was carrying the world on his shoulders in attack, and in reality he was, because MacKay was powder puff today, and Kyle didn't have much impact on the game. He's got big physical presence and simply never used it to good effect at all. When Porter went off, although he never had the greatest of games, for me that signalled the end of our likelihood to score.
Sweeney was steady away but I'd prefer to see him in midfield and Liddle put in the defence, because Liddle's shooting isn't up to the same standards as Sweeney. Jones had one of those days where not a lot came off for him, also one or two lapses of concentration giving rise to poor touches to gift back easy possession.
Leading us to man of the match Matty Robson. I can't believe I'm saying this, but he's showing the way with his appetite to run with the ball and excite the crowd when he gets at the defenders. He had a great game today, and also put in some really good tackles, as well as some good balls into the box.
4-3-3 won't and never has worked for Pools and yet Wilson reverts back to it every few months. Why we couldn't have gone 4-4-2 from the start and tested their midfield properly I don't know. We made it easy for them to play against us in my opinion. They definitely deserved their point, and I'm glad they aren't only three points behind us tonight.

yer fookin eejit. i never said liddle was class, you're seeing what you want to see there. i was bemoaning the fact that he's not playing to his full potential, but when he does he's one of the better players in this division.

i bet your lips move when you read.

as a team today we were shite, but there were some half decent performances, especially from some of them who have been gash recently i.e collins, nelson.

is that really so hard for you fookwits to understand ?
