Matty doesn't really deserve to be left out but I just think he's better coming on in the last half on hour against tiring legs, he probably doesn't want to be labeled as one but his best performances are generally as an impact sub.

That team really worries me and I don't think it'll be far from the right one.

From the above there's only one defender that fills me with confidence, one midfielder and one attacker. The rest are either out of form or crap! Some are both. confised

I tend to agree but it's what we're stuck with until at least January. This little run of fixtures as well is crucial to our season with the likes of Yeovil, Hereford and Crewe coming up. Seven points will go a long way to making sure we're still in this division next season.

it's based on what we've got, and who we'll be more or less forced to play(in other words Kyle)
Monkhouse and Sweeney should play in the midfield roles they were doing last week on the wings (although I still like Sweeney in the centre getting into shooting positions from there) - they both give us so much going forward and we're the home team so I'd be happy with that. I'd like to see Liddle and Jones define their roles better when they're both in the centre, Liddle needs to be the one protecting the back four and let Jones be the one a bit further forward to pass the ball around .
Clark and Nelson need a run of games together there - McCunnie and Humphreys are just going to have to shape up, ditto Budtz.
And Kyle.
I can see what you mean now...........

He's been given compassionate leave due to family illness.

I heard as well that he's had an Achilles niggle for a while, which might explain his dip in form but other things might as well.

How come only the fans can see Ben Clark is the best defender at pools?

if there's no place on the pitch at all for Clark tomorrow Wilson should be sacked for gross incompetence with immediate effect.
Surely he's not that stupid??

A question as I don't want to start a new thread.

For last weeks FA Cup game it was reported that Kyle didn't want to play as he didn't want to be cup tied, so if it was his choice not to play do Pools still have to pay him his weeks wages?.

he should be docked his wages by both Pools and Coventry in that case. He should get absolutely f-uck all.
What actually happened will be a different story, but I should imagine it's something all parties would have had to agree on based on the fact that the 2nd round and 3rd round games involving Pools would very likely be affected.
If we'd got knocked out by Brighton it wouldn't have been an issue, and Pools would have had to pay him regardless, but this is tantamount to a refusal to play. Unless Coventry themselves had stipulated the clause, then they should pay the lot for that week.

my team would be budtz, mccunnie, nelson, collins, humphreys, monkey, clark, jones, sweeney, porter, kyle

for all of ben clarks abilities at CB I think we are desperately in need for a defensive midfielder so i would play him there.should collins be out then bring in lidds and push clark back. The rest of the team then picks itself

As I said earlier in the thread Collins won't be playing as he's been given indefinite compassionate leave.

Me, I'd just swap Liddle back alongside Nelson and move Clark in front of them. Let Jones do the running and passing. Time for a bit more steel on the edge of the box, we get done on the overheads and through balls and getting caught square time and time again.
