Martin Scott without doubt.

Turned our best ever team into relegation fodder in months, spectacularly woeful manager.

He rightfully didn't get the chance to. He should have went after the Tamworth defeat.

Remember his first official game in charge? Boyd (29 goals the previous season) on the bench with the likes of Sandra Bullock, Chris Llewellyn, and Michael Proctor preferred. The likes of Houchen and Moncur may have been in charge of worse teams but they had no resources to work with in comparision and both signed some decent players.

If we are taking budgets into account then it is easily Danny Wilson.

By a country mile

I hope you aren't being serious?

Wilson barely has a budget this is the smallest sqaud we have had for years, with the least transfer activity. Also to include one of only four managers who've ever won us promotion isn't entirely fair is it?

Martin Scott, despite our defeat at Cardiff we were on the crest of a wave, so much goodwill and he smothered it ... he radiated cluelessness.

Since 1985 seems a bit like comparing racing drivers when half are driving 10 year old corsas against the other half driving Jags.

Mick Tait in common with most previous managers had a playing budget (£350,000) that was in the bottom two in the division. Pay peanuts and you get David Clegg.

Chris Turner got immediately double that - and each following manager has had a hugely increased budget on the pre-IOR managers. This is simply because they have torn up the link between money through the gate and wages. The money through the gate at Pools contributes less than half of the costs of the club. We are very, very lucky to have IOR. Without them we are just another Halifax Town or Torquay United.

All of this confirms however that the worst manager (in the whole history of our club with no exceptions) is Mr Martin 'Scrabble Bag' 'Overachievers' 'Ooo me chin' Scott.

Most new Pools managers are expected to turn round a sinking ship. He turned round, damaged , demoralised and then relegated one of the best teams we have ever had. I'm delighted he is now involved in wrecking the Boro youth academy which has been far too successful for my liking.

scott without a doubt. We were widely expected to get into the playoffs at least and we were woeful. He had the most money ever. Whereas wilson has had to deal with a quad devoid of any confidence and an ever lowering budget.

Scott, Moncur, Wilson or Viz Booby.

Can't decide, so string 'em all up!

Cos he's made us mediocre. The only manager that I can think of that has done that. The others had either good teams or shite teams, but never mediocre, boring teams.

Have they really?

Bristol Rovers- boring.
MK Dons- poor.
Brighton- didn't go, scoreline doesn't look inspiring.
Huddersfield- boring as fk for 80 odd minutes, absolutely shocking performance for the majority of the match. You just let the scoreline fool you.
Swindon- didn't go- dont' agree with Friday night games.
Oldham- good game, very enjoyable.
Cheltenham- didn't go- don't agree with Friday night games.
Leicester- rubbish.
West Brom- outstanding.
Stockport- canny game but hardly exciting.
Scunthorpe- excellent.
Colchester- didn't go.

Hardly an awe inspiring list of performances that your generalisation attempted to imply.

I've been to 9 home games this season (I think?)- out of those I would put 6 down as boring / rubbish and 3 as being any good. The Brighton cup game was boring enough not to even warrant a mention first time around.

Go and do your maths again.

snowy the point wasnt about the overall quality of the match, but the entertainment (or lack of it) provided
there have been two poor matches at the vic this season and about 5 quality ones. The rest were somewhere inbetween

I dont get whats been exciting either? Obviously the fans dont agree with you going by the attendences.

Personally I find 1-0 wins more exicting than conceding 3 goals inthe first half hour every game. sctatchinghead

you find a one nil win more exciting than a 3-3 draw or a 5-3 win?

Are you sure your not confusing the word 'exciting' with 'satisfying'

Snowys right, if we go 2 down, yer great that we show amazing character to come back and win 3-2, but why the flip we're we 2 down in the first place?

Clearly there is summit wrong that the players can only get motivated when there on the back foot.

I do agree with you though that's it entertaining, from a neutral point of view, it must be amazing to watch, especially Huddersfield, Wallsall away etc.

One of my favourite ever pools games is carlisle away, when we we're 2 down and won 3-2

a) You have no idea what Kyle is on

and

b) Because he's signed one player for less than three months on a decent wage it hardly means he's got a massive budget does it? I mean when Scott signed three players from Championship clubs and one for a fee from League One in the summer after Cardiff they'd have been on peanuts wouldn't they? Turner was given pots of cash compared to what Wilson has had this season. FFS we've signed two young lads who'd been released and one player on loan, we are mid table in League One, reached the third round of the the League Cup and the third round of the FA Cup Wilson is doing ok by anyones standards. Yet according to you he's worse than Mick Tait, Bob Moncur, Martin Scott, Viv Busby, David Mcreerey, John Mcphail, Keith Houchen and anyone else shite who I've failed to mention stpid

Viv Busby IMO.

It was under him that we went on that goal-less run was it not?

We only employed him because he appeared as a pundit on the telly

Alan Murray was in charge for the first 8-9 games of that. He was sacked and replaced with Busby, who wasn't even fit to be in the same room as Murray.

Cheers for the correction. Alan Murray was a very under-rated manager imo. Not many people could have stepped in Sir Cyril's shoes so well.

For me it's close call between Scooty & Busby

But given what he had compared to other managers, it has to be Scooty

But i'd still stamp on Busby's head given half the chance

Does that make me bitter???

I would of thought wanting to stamp on Viv's head was a normal run of the mill thing

After all, people complain now when DW drops Big Ben, Booby dropped Phil Gilchrist and should have had all of his teeth kicked out for that alone!
