I've been thinking about trying this for a while, and our lass bought me a voucher for me birthday, which I redeem next week.

Has anyone on here had a go? Most of my family have tried it said it's ace.

I regularly have reflexology, and sometimes have auricular acupunture at the same time. The effects can be, shall we say, profound.

Never had 'body' acupuncture, but it's possible you won't feel any effects at all after just one session. It works by clearing the body's pathways of any blockages which might be causing symptoms. So as the blockages are removed, the body is freed up to heal itself. Takes time.

Make sure you go to a qualified bod, tho (ie someone on a recognised professional register) otherwise there's the possibility of quackery and grubby needles.

Don't know what happened to you, Tony. You must be a hopeless case  ....or perhaps another therapy would work better...we're all different

Can you have acupuncture without needles?

Yes, it is called acupressure, or trigger point therapy, quite good if you know what you are doing.

Our rass has acupuncture regularly, along with massage and reflexology treatments and some that you've never even heard of resulting in huge purple welts which look like she's been battered, along with the stinkiest medicine you've ever rubbed in, but it all seems to work. Don't knock it.

This is fooking weird - I had my first acupuncture session today in Leeds for my back - didn't ease things up straight away but my walking's improved over the course of the day. 12 in the back, two in the thigh, one in the knee and one in the foot. Doesn't really hurt although I'm thick-skinned rolfl
