It is 30 quid but you must make sure you only ever get Pal games as the first one I had got bricked by a NTSC game doing a software update, it still worries me when a game updates even now.

Just found this on the net, it may restrict the type of chip you need.

If you purchased your console after the end of October 2008 in the UK and the serial code starts with LEH222xxxx and above (est) chances are you will have this epoxy resin on your DVD drive.

Due to the solderless clips needing an exact fit it's extremely difficult to use them even after removing the resin completely, the most cost effective way is to "hardwire" the chip in.

I think that my brother knows someone who can chip the later models but they charge around £80 for it

Look, don't buy dodgy discs just pay the proper price. People have spent money developing these games. Dodgy discs are just wrong.
