ior wont give wilson anymore money as they have already written this season off. they trust the manager sufficently to assume we wont go down.

they are hoping to get the ground sale sorted.

at the end of the season they will sack wilson, clear out about half of the playing staff ( alb, budz, mcunnie, boland, humps, collins, porter, monky, foley. mckay, power and the rest of the kids ), bring a new manager in, and pretty much start from scratch.

Like all conspiracy theories the cock up will prevail.

Aye, if only... but the powers move exceedingly slowly in these circumstances.

You can't get rid of 10 players and just start again.

It's not fifa or pro evo, it just doesnt work like that.

Any changes need to be done gradually, phasing out the old bringing in the new.

Though I do agree with IOR writing this season off, although if Wilson splashes the cash in january my opinion on that may change.

Well if you're holding up Darlo as an example that would at face value seem to be justified. But when you think about it again, their intergalacticos didn't do THAT badly. They just failed to meet inflated expectations. Another example, although it was hardly an intentional clear-out, would be the Busby Babes (Matt, not Viv).

is this something you have heard or just what you think might happen. I could certainly see the first part being a possibility but the getting rid of all those player part is unlikely in my opinion

I hate to say I told you so. .... but this problem has been going on for a while. I get the feeling we're at the fag end of an empire, the will seems to have gone out of the place, the candles flickering ...it's a charisma free zone.

to be fair before ior came along most of us would have jumped at the prospect of us being a mid-table side in this league.

True, but expectations have been raised and we've had 10 years of it, some of the youngsters know nothing else, the bar has been raised, once raised, itnever goes down again.

i disagree with that!

Ask the likes of Oldham who's bar, in the , was the Premiership, i reckon their fans would be jubilant with promotion into the Championship

For a start, we aren't Oldham. Expectation for us is being there or thereabouts in the bottom two divisions. That's nothing brilliant in the order of things, but that's our expectations, not Championship or Premiership.

there are Oldham fans who think they should be/could get to the premiership???
They wouldn't last more than one or two seasons in the championship. They are a marginally bigger club than Hartlepool. Someone should tell the deluded f-uckers this fact

PS history counts for nowt - what they were and what they are now, are two completely different things.
Ask Luton, Oxford, Wrexham or Cambridge.

Oldham were one of the clubs that voted (unanimously) to set up the Premier League in the first place. What the fook were they thinking? When they helped to create this gulf between "haves" and "have nots" did they honestly think they had a long term future on the wealthy side of that divide? Utter fooking mentalists. stpid

A club that deserved no sympathy when they hit administration a few years ago.
Clubs like this scramble into the Premeirship and believe if they can last a couple of seasons, they can buy safety with the dosh ....eejits!

its hard to be critical of ior given the attendances and the fact they dont own the ground. at present theres little incentive in ploughing more money into the club. it feels to me like hodcroft is losing his appetite for owning a football club.

Hodcroft doesn't own the club so i dont think the decision is his to make
