Thank God the titty Spaniard has gone. Eggnog wants a slap & Diana sounds like Delores from The Cranberries. JLS are simply awful - leaving only really Alexandra.

Dead right I can vouch for that.

The thing is, it doesn't matter if one of the only two proper singers got dumped cos the competition is absolutely pointless anyway. I've been resigned to the likes of Ee-Oggy winning ever since the beginning. He's shite but so what?
When the show is over I'll probaby never hear him again. The radio stations I listen to only play proper music. Hopefully they'll catch onto Ruth and Laura.
Alexandra was OK but too scared to go for the high notes. She ended up sounding like a poor clone of Whitney whatsit. That second song was a crap song but at least she spared us "I Will Always Love You".

I'd rather be locked in the room in Nursery Inn when a folk night is on, with my hands tied behind my back so I couldn't stuff my fingers in my ears, then watch the X-Factor......

We have a special way of watching it. I put the volume on mute until the (proper) singers start singing. The time the sound is off, we spend conversing about life in general.

Of course now that three of the four proper singers are out, watching it is no longer a worthwhile proposition is it.

Is there any programme on TV that people on here actually like to watch ? Because when people suggest something. it's always the same response: " IT'S A LOAD OF S***E!"

I can't believe people got rid of Laura and Ruth, they were quite good by all accounts, although Louis did thimk Ruth was a bit "cheesy" when she first sang.

I think the tv taste on here is very varied.

You have to remember there is a lot of older geezers on here who hate the reality tv age.

And you seem to love it.

There is your clash.

And also britania high is the type of thing a 6 year old would love, so you know, not really going to be liked on here is it?

Quite right, I loathe and fear reality TV.

TV should be interesting and/or escapist. Bring back Kenny Everett, Play for To-day, The Old Grey Whistle Test...then I might start watching the box again

Correction Yupeb; Britannia High is the type of thing a 6 year old girl would love.

Now I'm getting a bit sick of I'm a Celebrity and Big Brother to be honest.

But there are class programmes on TV - Britannia High is much better than Heartbeat for Sundays. It's underestimated just because it's aimed at a very young, very wide demographic. I love things like that - Skins, Echo Beach/Moving Wallpaper etc.

I used to watch Heartbeat every Sunday when it was on - surely they should be in the 1970s now it's been 15 years !

It's like after Skins went on the air on Channel 4, the TV Companies realised that there actually was a younger, more smarter, even more sexier and educated generation of teenagers to aim for and that's probably why they have produced shows like that.

I dunno how you can admit to watching something like heartbeat when you we're 15.

When i was 15 i was at youth clubs, chasing girls, really getting into music, alcahol etc

I wouldn't class that as normal but surely there is more to live than a awful awful tv show set in boring yorkshire?

I don't think there's any doubt that entertainment on the whole is considerably dumbed-down now, in the sense that a good many shows are geared up to knee-jerk audience reactions and not much else. Younger people probably have no idea how good TV can be because they don't have access to most of the old programmes.

Moreover, my generation was the sexiest and best educated ever, and so what we say goes :coool:

Only simply because there is nothing for young people to do and still do in Medway. Some people may think that life here in the South is perfect because we are supposedly richer and more ducated, you know, this is where all the jobs are...but that is actually not the case in that I actually come from one of the most depressed areas in the UK.

That's why I wasn't like you going to youth clubs at 15, because there are very little youth clubs.

I was shocked to discover recently that Hartlepool was and probably still is no different to Medway, Medway is probably worse - apparantly having 25% unemployment in the 1980s etc.

TV was and still is the cheapest form of entertainment in my house because we didn't have much money to spend and still don't, we're poor but we're comfortable and I'm happy with that.

But Hollyoaks is actually a lot better than it was 10 years ago, even though I don't watch it.

There are some great old shows from the 60s and 70s arguably the best period in Britain's history, especially the comedies like Are You Being Served, On the Buses, The Likely Lads, Steptoe and Son, Bread, Only Fools and Horses, Not the Nine O'Clock News etc.

When one of the judges is the guy who was largely reponsible for inflicting Westlife on an innocent British public, you just know what kind of act is going to win.

So your balls dropped this weekend then PoK?.

I watched a reality show yesterday on Sky 1, Wayne Rooney's Street Soccerstar, that was also shite but a bit better than the X Factor.

TV is generally shite now because there is too many channels!!!!

When the BBC only had 2 channels all the money went into making good quality programmes....now the money is spread amongst these other BBC channels and the quality has got shite!!!!

The same goes for the other terrestrial channels....and that is why we have so many 'Reality'/'Celebrity' shite now....it's cheap to make!!!!
