There used to be a thing on the back of the seat, was it a striker for matches or a place to stub your tab out?

it was a stubber wasn't it. thats what people used it for anyway.

i'm only 23 like, and some of my early memories involve getting on buses full of old gimmers smoking like there was no tomorrow.

Here's one for you and I was only a kid at the time, but remember the honesty boxes on the bus platforms to put your fare in if you hadn't paid the conductor...?
