They previewed Newcastle, Boro and Sunderland and eevn did a piece on Denys Smith's new book. They interviewed Dave Penny about the Darlow game. They didn't even MENTION we have a game at Leeds tomorrow. I will be writing to the BBC to complain.

Right that's it. Final straw and that. Look North showed the goal from the Millwall v Carlisle game but didn't have room for any Pools OR Darlow goals. But they found time for a two-minute slot on Tony Jeffries maybe turning pro and then a feature on a 15-year-old archery prospect. So they have time for monkey tennis but no time for Hartlepool or Darlington. I will now right a letter of complaint.

Hope they are able to understand it.

Very funny Tree, I was writing when I was full of f***. I think PoK should email them too. Here is my email, I have been promised a reply withing 10 working days:

I wish to complain about the sports coverage. On Friday (four days ago), the sports section previewed Newcastle, Sunderland and Middlesbrough and even did a piece on former Sunderland boss Denys Smith's new book. It then previewed Darlington but didn't even mention Hartlepool United had a big game at Leeds United the following day. And then to add insult to injury, tonight's programme featured highlights from Carlisle's game at Millwall but didn't even show any action from Hartlepool United against Bristol Rovers or Darlington against Chester City. Yet the programme found time for a two-minute slot on an amateur boxer and then a feature on a 15-year-old archery prospect. I am furious. Why do we pay our licence fee? I demand some answers from the BBC as this is not good enough.

Finally got a reply. Nice typo in the fourth par. Pissing in the wind as usual:

Dear sir,

Thanks for your e-mail regarding 'Look North'.

I understand you feel there are inadequacies with the sports coverage on the
programme and that not all local football teams are covered to the extent that
they should be.

Unfortunately programmes only have a certain amount of time in which to show all
the content and unfortunately this means that some stories may not be broadcast.
It appears this has been the case with some coverage of Hartlepool United and
Darlington.

As a public service broadcaster we have to cater for all local sports, aside
form football and promote local sporting personalities, and this is the reason
why a local archer and a boxer were featured instead of an extra football
report.

However I can appreciate why you feel the way you do and so I'd like to take
this opportunity to assure you that I've recorded your comments onto our
audience log. This is an internal daily report of audience feedback which is
circulated to many BBC staff including senior management, producers and channel
controllers.

We're committed to developing better links with you, our audience, to further
enhance our understanding of your viewing and listening needs.

Thanks again for contacting us with your thoughts.

And there was no explanation as to why the Leeds match was missed out altogether.

if I could have a magical power to inflict diarrhoea on people this world would be a smelly place. And there would be nobody at the BBC Look North able to work because of their gastric problems, so the broadcasts wouldn't be possible full stop. I'd prefer that.

I E-Mailed Tyne Tees earlier in the season when their Friday night preview of the Pools and Darlo games was to announce we were playing the teams we'd played the week before (the games they'd showed the goals from on the Monday of that week). I didn't even get a reply.

The thing what annoys me most is the complete also ran nondescript nature of the so called 'North East Big Three'. They are among the 10-20th best clubs in the Premiership, they never win anything but delude themselves about the 'North East Passion'. They are no more passionate than the rest of the country when it comes to football just more deluded, thick, and gullible. I'd howl if they all went down, can you imagine that rolfl How would the media in this region deal with us or Darlo being in the same league as one of them?

If they went down to the division below us they'd still get more coverage..... actually it happened when Darlo and Boro were in the same division in the late 80's on BBC Radio Cleveland.
