Can I just say that Collins is a pile of shite and I hope he never gets in our team again. What the fuck has happened to him this season? Should be demoted from club captian or whatever he is.

Porter tried to beat Leeds on his own today and was immense. Never stopped all game and was a joy to watch.

Even ALB made a couple of decent saves too.

Brown was utter gash first half, as he has been for weeks but perked up in the 2nd.

Felt sorry for Robson. Finally getting his confidence up and doing well on left wing then Wilson decdies to play him left back again! banghead Fair play Wilson for realising Humphreys is a fat useless get but we have no one else to play left back so till then he is the best we have. I love Robson going forward and second half he did great but defensivly he is poor and was an awful decision to play him here in my opinion.

Clark and Nelson at the back and Jones and Liddle is the only way forward.

I dont often agree with you but most that right.

I might bring Liddle into left back, would mean either bringing Clark back to centre half (in place of Collins) but that means finding someone else to play alongside Jones in midfield.

Power seems to have disappeared from the face of the planet.

He's been demoted to co-commentary on Pools World.

FFS Wilson, bring in someone on loan at left back this week. Humphreys is abysmal and Robson is not a defender. Theres no point going back to what failed before, why does everyone else seem able to bring decent loanees in except us? Surely theres someone at a Premier League or Championship club rotting in the reserves.

PS: Ben Clark plus one other in the centre.

You played some neat stuff and for a short while looked like you could draw level. No consolation, I know, but I enjoyed watching you play. Two seasons in a row you've come to ER to play.

Your fans were suitably nut-tastic as well compared to the usual visiting contingents. The 'You're not famous any more' chant was unworthy though, but I guess it's got to be sung by everyone by order of Mawhinney  .

Hope you get it right because you play the game the right way :-o

Yeah, and apologies if this sounds arrogant (really don't mean to be) but Becchio and Beckford have just short of 30 goals between them in all competitions, and the midfield was bossed by Delph who will be playing at a much higher level soon enough with or without us.

Obviously you have the context of watching the team all the time, but, for example, much better teams would have been undone by the movement and passing for the second, crucial, goal.

Beckford is different class to this level but I honestly didn't think much of Becchio today, he rates himself quite highly though that's apparent, a 'confident' lad!!

Delph was excellent as well, I can see what all the fussy is about very classy in possession and played with a swagger.

Becchio started at Boca Juniors, so the story goes, and was a real left field acquisition. He didn't have his finest game today, but for someone to come in with no experience of English football and have 11 goals to his name by the end of November says a lot for his character.

He never gives in and is a real team player. He barely speaks a word of English either!

As for Delph...we brought him through the Academy, blooded him, and here he is three months later more or less on borrowed time at the club. It's a privilege to see him playing for us.

Anyway, apologies for going on. Analysis of Leeds players is the last thing you want now, or at any time :-o .

Becchio and Beckford are simply too good for L1 and any team in in our division would love either one of them but its shear greed on Leeds part that they have both.

I am not sure Snodgrass would of added anything to our team that Joel & Browny don't give us already but he would make a good sub to bring on near the end of a match.

Beckford cost us £45,000.

Becchio cost us nothing, I believe.

Good scouting system is responsible for both.

At the end of the day Porter is higher than League One standard.

Brown (based on at the start of the season) is higher than League One standard.

So we can count overselves very lucky that we have them two, well for this season anyway or on Brown's part at least until January.

there's a lot of work to be done to keep the good players we have, and to sort out the ones who don't cut the mustard at this level and find their replacements. I hope the club is aware we will be dead in the water if we lose Porter and Brown and keep the present defensive line up.......surely things are in hand to resolve these problems in the near future????
I can't stomach the thought of League Two football the season after next,or worse still, next term (gulp)

with the present squad there's easily enough quality to get us to mid table security, but if as has been mentioned, Brown and Porter clear off then that puts a completely different face on things. All of a sudden the end of the season would look too far away with not enough points built up to comfortably carry us to safety.

I had an interesting conversation last season about Brown. He is very skilful and has good vision - he can take defenders out of the game with intelligent running etc etc - but the one aspect he lacks seems to be the aggression and "getting stuck in" when there's a 50-50 to be won. He does bottle out and simply lets the opponent have it - and I don't think managers/coaches/scouts from higher up the pyramid will come in for him until that aspect of his game improves.
They don't care how big the centre half is - if there's a sniff of charging it down or coming out with the ball after a last ditch 50-50 and a chance to score a goal - that is what they want to see more than anything. That could be the difference between getting signed up and playing regularly at a higher level. This is probably what held back Boyd, and instead someone like Leroy Lita went into the Premier League despite being less skilful.
