Was it a penalty? I personally thought Porter was pushed.

Adams is saying it defintley was not and he's seen the DVD and all the Brighton news agencies are saying it was a poor decision...

Yes. I saw it given and I saw him score it.

Should it have been? From where we were it looked like one of those that sometimes you get, sometimes you don't. Not seen any replays though.

What I was less sure of was their offside at the end. We weren't best placed to see that. If the striker WAS offside he wants a slap. All he had to do was stay behind the ball. Ripper did you get a better view of that one from your end?

I think so. Our first thought was "offside" and looked straight to the linesman who fortunately agreed.

I liked how there keeper was time wasting before the penalty, He we was doing his best to waste as much time as possible, Dropping the ball taking his kicks the opposite side etc etc

It was quite funny to see him rushing and at times kicking the ball straight out of play  well done Porter for putting it away well

ref and lino again werent the best and buckled to intimidation after sweeney prob had a more viable appeal refused

adams is only saying what we said re collins red card (except we are of course right and he is wrong)

I thought Joel was very clever and the lad was quite naive, a combination that = penalty!!

The Aussie knew exactly what he was doing!!

Sure enough, next set piece the defender drapes one arm over Brown's shoulder and the other round his waist. He couldn't move. I'm shouting "are you watching this? our number 14? AGAIN" Nothing. I was pleasantly surprised when he flagged for the penalty shortly afterwards, but it was the correct call.

who knows John , that shout might have turned his attention towards the shenanigans!!! One advantage of a small crowd where individual's voices can be heard!!!

I was in town end looked nailed on to me, would have been given as a free kick anywhere else on the field, and the Brighton player's would not have argued the foul. Makes a change to have them given, and like someone else on here thought the one on Sweeney was also a penalty.

I'm a Poolie, always have been and always will be but I saw the foul on ITV Meridian, and I personally think Porter went down rather easily last night - a touch of Nicky Southall a la Palace in the Cup.

But who cares ? We won, we're in the next round because of it.

I thought it was a harsh award. And if Joel goes down under a similar challenge this weekend i don't think the ref will be pointing to the spot, not at elland road he won't!

The refs assistant indicated a foul had been commited in the box, which gave the ref no choice but to award the penalty kick. He was the closer of the two and had a clear view.
Job done!
