Once again Gavin has warm words for the warm hearted and forgiving people of Hartlepool. It was all a good read till he praised Martin Scotts man management skills  . Wonder if Ben Clark will ever write a blog rolfl

To be fair I have heard on a number of occasions that Scotty was a top class man manager. however his tactics have something left to be desired.

I heard from a source within the club that when we got to Cardiff he asked all of the players to give him at least 3 photographs of loved ones. while the players were out warming up he got one of teh backroom staff to pin the photographs up in the dressing room. in his team talk at half time his words were something along the lines of,

"Your now playing this second half for these people (and pointed to the photographs), as well as them (pointing out of the dressing room door towards the pools fans) your fans who have spent a hell of a lot of hard earned cash to come and support you. As well as making history for HUFC"

Now those are quality words when you need a pick me up, and how it worked, had it not been for another fcuking ref who bottled the stage and going to send teh BIGGER club through. merchant banker

I, like many others wanted Scotty to be given a chance as manager.

I will say this really really quietly ...

I made a mistake and was wrong.

In his latest blog Gav states that his career highlight was the play-off final for Pools.

Some of the best number 2's have never made it as a number 1, to go from the transition from number 2, the players mate, the sidekick, the go between from the players to the manager, to then being manager, players never really seeing you in that light before, having to then be called gaffer, players who once told you secrets maybe not trusting you anymore, is very very hard.

His signings and selections we're shit aswell like, that didn't help.

Also to have both Porter and Boyd injured all season didn't help.

it does.

I just realised when reading my post i said number 2's and number 1's far too much, left myself wide open there.

Boydy's injury was probably made worse by Scott making him try to play on 3 times before reluctantly subbing him.
I seem to recall Scott's comments to the press afterwards basically accused Boydy of not trying, when the injury and subsequent complications nearly cost the lad his leg.

I was told years ago by someone in the club that Scott hated Boydy when he was youth team coach under Turner and West. Turner had Boydy train with the first team to keep him away from Scott.

it certainly showed that day.
If I was Boyd, I would have taken legal action against him.
In fact, why doesn't he do it anyway??
Go on Boydy, nail the little c-unt.

aye Yeovil, who were so woeful they should have been hammered by 4 or 5 goals, but Scott was so clueless in setting up the team and insisting on playing wank players like Darren Williams that we actually managed to lose 1-0.
Horrible, clueless, wankfaced cuntchops of an excuse for a man - hate him hate him hate him rage rage
