So....are we going to get dicked out of sight like everyone is saying we are? I seem to be the only person who is slightly positive about us coming back with something.

Although we've got injuries, I think we can survive without Trescothick and Vaughan who have shown inconsistency for a while. Ian Bell is like a new player and should average about 5 times what he did in 2005. Collingwood is a better player than he's ever been and we actually have a spinner who can take wickets even though he can't bat for sh*t.

Their team are all older than poolpower, I doubt McGrath will last 5 tests in the space of 6 weeks seeing as he's hardly played test cricket since we beat them.

My prediction- 2-2 and the Ashes returns.

The Aussies have got Bell and Strauss earmarked as targets, Bell's record against Australia's v.poor isn't it? He's only in-form against moderate bowling..he'll cack his pants against that lot.

The Pakistani bowling line up is one of the best, if not the best in the world and Bell tore them to shreds time after time. Even if they were all drugged to their eyeballs!

Bell's a big-game bottler man! He's the Bob Newton of the English team. Mad John, tell me how many times Newton didn't play against Darlo!

I don't think its fair to call him a big game bottler, he's still young (23ish) and was playing in one of his first series. Admittedly he was total shit but ever since he has been superb, and fully deserved his accolade the other week (best upcoming player in the World or something)

i wouldn't let giles anywhere near the team, if we need a 2nd spinner [ at Whatever TF that ground that takes spin is] then pieterson can do the job, i think he's a great spinner and thats how he started his cricket career too....

still think we'll get beat a draw at best

We will slap them out of site. They're a two player team, if we can get at Ponting and batter Warne off the pitch we'll piss it. Warne falls to pieces if you annoy him and Ponting hates it in his ribs.

Willie Boland's a better batsman.

BTW Tax-Payer, did you hear my encouragement to Matty Robson last night above the berating of the poor lad from your general area?

I noticed it raised a cheeky MK grin!

haha, yeah I did- that's why I turned round, I knew it was you straightaway!

Sorry, I should have made it obvious in the title of the thread what the content was going to be.
