I wonder what they would of thought of the Hawkwind gig I went to years ago, Ginger Baker was on drums for them and when he came on stage he had a huge spliff in his mouth, he then throw the said spliff into the crowd and went on to play a great gig.

Going to see the above Mod on Friday and will endeavour to get close enough to chuck him a fag. Would love to see the stewards try and take it off him...Anyway, the fag swirls round the end of his guitar as he launches into Eton Rifles are quite atmospheric in an arty farty non politically correct sort of way.

Weller is not a Mod....he's said on many occasions himself....didn't stop him jumping on the 'Quadrophenia' bandwagon back in the day though!!!! :roll:

Well why does he hate the tag 'Modfather' and why has he said in the past....'I'm not a mod and never have been'....and why at gigs and outside was he so stuck up with the mod crowd he wouldn't even acknowledge them but only looked on with a replusive look????

The fact he told Blair to welcome to the board in 1997 when he was asked if they could use 'Changingman' as their anthem and gave a similiar response when offered a CBE in 2007 takes him out of the above category in my book. Him and Strummer stand/stood out a mile from the remnants of the white dogpoo we had to listen to in the late 70's early 80's. Those fookers kept it going.

BBC4 10.30 tonight. Good documentary in which his Dad doesn't really come across as a w**nker.
