I'm not fussed on iPods after past experiences and the sound quality on Sony's are apparently much superior!!!! confised

I think Mr.Yloop could be the man to point me in the right direction like!!!! :wink:

From personal experience, iPods are the way to go - the software for loading mp3s on Sony (is it still SonicStage?) is gash - just stick with iPod touch or the new Nano, which is also tasty

The software has completely changed for Sony's cos of past problems....you can just drop and drag from WindowsMedia!!!! :coool:

They look like they both run on the same software and both seem to have decent reviews around the net... Personally I'd go for the 8gb cause you'll get twice as much music on there and it has a radio too

But on the Product Description it says it will only hold about 1,850 tracks....I thought an 8GB would hold a lot more than that!!!! :shock:

That seems about right mate, depends on the bitrate of the mp3's you're putting on there but an average song is 3-5mb

I think there are smaller filetypes you can use but mp3 is what you'll have mostly at the minute. That's still 180 albums, 200+ hours of music

I've only got 1118 on my ipod like at its at 6.93gb..... so not many more going on there....

Because when i'm out and about, I dont like to listen to the same song over and over again...A bit of variety helps.

As the owner of a 30GB iPod, all I can say is that I love it and wouldn't now be without it. Those with Golden Ears may scoff at the quality, but it sounds OK to me, and once I've ripped my CDs I can put them away. Add in the Podcasts and Audiobooks, and I have effectively a complete audio collection that I can take on holiday, in the car, wherever, and that only takes up the space inside a shirt pocket.

By the way, if anyone else likes listening to audiobooks check out librivox.org - they take stuff that's Public Domain and volunteers turn them into audiobooks. The quality is variable, but there's one or two of the readers that are professional quality....

Exactly! I have my iDock under the TV got my remote for it by my side when there is bollock all on the TV i press mute and stick the iPod on random. Great entertainment all from my armchair - Im starting to know what an armchair 'fan' is like now. it's good!!
