Well done to Pools and Kyle for coming back - I doubt he will be eligible for the cup though.

Yeah, does suggest that its not 100% official doesn't it

I wouldn't imagine we'll get him for the cup but would be great if we could.

Glad he is back but in a way would have rather seen the wages go on a keeper and full back.

what? And leave us with only foley and mackay as back up? There is no guarantee that a def or gk would stop the rot. But having kk here almost guarantees we have one of the best strikeforces in the division.

Were scoring enough without him. In fact didnt we only score 2 times in his last 3 games?

No guarentee that a def or gk would stop the rot? Our problem is simple. We concede too many so as long as they were better than what we have (lets face it they couldnt be any worse) then it would only help. I like Kyle but if you seriously think that signing a striker is more important than sorting our defence then you have problems.

You only have to look at how much better Joel is playing when Kyle is in the team.

Oh thats ok then. We concede 3 but Joel played well

I'm going to have to agree with the other tree here and say the defence is definitely priority!!

Anyone with any sense can see that mate but those two lack the aforementioned article.

Dont you roll your eyes at me.

Where, and please read this slowly and carefully, has it been written or said, that if Kyle comes in we are not allowed to improve the defence?

Improving the defence and replacing both keepers is essential, but does that mean we turn down Kyle until it happens?

And maybe, just maybe, the defence is being looked at.

Oh, and any more eye rolling may result in a ban. I have power.

Im assuming because of the money were forking out for Kyles wages that we cant bring anyone else in? Its the only logical reason that the defence and gk situation hasnt been rectified yet? The only other option is that Wilson is a clueless fucker and thinks they are good enough.

Ok thats probably the reason.

A somewhat refreshing change to you calling him a 'lovely lovely person'.

back to the original point - if you're trying to sell yourself as a striker, you need to play in a team that creates and scores goals. He could have gone to many "bigger" clubs in our division but how many chances would he get in a game? From his point of view he sees plenty of the ball playing for Pools, and he knows how the team operates going forward and what to expect from his team mates. There's no point in him starting again elsewhere from scratch getting to know new team mates - he'll just slot straight back in from game one of this second loan period and hopefully make another big impact for us. He's been great at the Vic so far, not so great away from home, but hopefully that will change at Leeds!!!

Yes we need a new keeper and at least one full back in, but there's no doubting Pools' firepower at the moment. Signings in those other two positions and we're a side capable of challenging for the play-offs easily.

hang on a minute all i said was We know what kyle is capable of. Any defender is unproven to us therefore it cant guarantee an improvement. Kyle gives us fantastic strength and depth up front. And look at our record since kyle (and clark) got into the team. It shows we are capable of challenging for a playoff spot

im ambivalent if im being totally honest. he hasnt scored in an away game and has had 3 stinkers away from the vic. at home though he has been very good.

theres no doubt he gives us options up front, but id also prefer to see the money spent where it needs to be, on a goalkeeper and some full backs.

im assuming wilson is going to address these positions at some point.

Well said Chippy, talking sense as always.

We have been assuming this since last season ended though and still no signs

We were scoring plenty of goals before Kyle arrived and we've scored plenty of goals when he was here. We've also scored plenty since he's gone again so no issue there then.

During all of that time we have shipped goals hand over fist, most of them coming from the left back side. Get a left back and a goalie FFS! Neither are up to the job.

Not going to happen though, I suspect that Humphreys has some compromising photos of Russ Green or Ken Hodcroft.

Agreed wholeheartidly. I said same on page 1 but some mug lamblasted me because that would leave us with only Foley and Mckay as back up stpid

Unless the rules have changed then you have to have the player registered 7 days before the original cup tie. That was the problem with Steven Turnbull when Bury played him in their replay a couple of years back.
