How could anyone possibly condone what he did to that family?

He is a convicted murderer, and david norris by doing that celebration is condoning what he has done.

Granted it's a former team mate and friend, but you still can't say it's ok just cos you know them

Totally agree, sack him.

I don't wish to be pedantic but he is a convicted killer as opposed to murderer and Norris should be sacked.

Wait, so showing you're a friend with someone who killed someone means you should be sacked?

It was the gesture, and the obvious upset it would cause the family, bringing everything back when there probs trying really hard to get over it all.

Heartless and careless.

Show support for him yes, but do it in private.

But to be fair I doubt the family will have been in the stand watching him celebrate in such manner. The media obviously chose to bring it to the families attention to get a story out of it so they are just as bad.

Agreed.

BUT...

as a footballer, in the public eye, playing a match infront of 20,000 people, infront of the national media, surely surely surely you would understand your goal celebration, if a controversial one, would have made it into the papers? Thus giving the family the chance too see it.

Only a moron would think otherwise.

Are you for real? He did it during a football match. That's hardly private. That celebration was seen by millions of TV viewers. Rarf.

I can't believe your response. So if someone showed their sympathy for Sidney Cooke you'd be ok with that?

Put it another way, GM. It's only a day after the Remembrance services.

All those people who died during the war, and all the people who's lives are on the line now, were/are doing it because they think people 'at home' are worth dying for. Many people 'at home', (for instance those who show solidarity with culpable killers) are people who have no values whatsoever.

GM,

reverse the roles here. if that had been your family members and you seen in the national press (papers or tv highlights) what would your reaction be? i know what mine would be. we only need to cast our attentions back 14 month ago, when we played brighton in the wake of the loss of Michael Maidens. Our players were shattered by Bas Savage's late goal and celebration. we all went mental at the time.

However, asking for the guy to be sacked is a bit OTT also. Fair enough punish the fcuker, fine him wages, internally discipline him (make him miss the next 2 / 3 games) make him make a public appology to the family. He is saying it is a personal celebration, make him explain in detail.

Att: 7,349.
Millions of tv viewers? Blackpool vs Ipswich is hardly Man Utd vs Arsenal.

I never said millions did i?

Ok so the attendence was only 7,000 at that one specific game.

But how many people buy the sun which it was in?

How many people read the bbc website?

Thats only 2 sources of the media i've pointed out, add about 15 other media portals on there with various viewing figures.

Even if it was done infront of ten people at a ressy match surely it's still in bad taste?

Yeah, you're right Dibs. We (the dodgy box owners), and the press, are to blame for Norris' actions. We should be ashamed.

Hmm. It would be interesting to know what your reaction would be if Luke McCormick had killed a couple of Pools kids and Norris had done that.

It would be infinitely more interesting if you'd shut your fookin' yap, you pompous, self inflated, nagging fishwife.

I've no doubt the family were upset when the disgusting journalist rang them and told them the exaggerated story of what it all meant while they were eating their beef and horseradish and 'invited them to comment.' As they do, like.

But it sends out no message as don't most things in the press.

So don't bring your revolting habits on here.

   Shit, damn, bugger....I'm banned until tomorrow...... bbolt bbolt bbolt

what's not beyond doubt, is the comment made by Snowy.
Some people obviously view themselves as more important than others, and if the truth be known this Ipswich player would have his mate released from jail tomorrow if it was up to him. There has now been two entire generations brought up without the basic lesson of taking responsibility for your own actions, and this tosspot Ipswich player is a prime example.

The mother of the kids that were killed is far to forgiving!!! I couldn't forgive or note hate the lad if he had destroyed my family.

At end of the day this Norris must be that much of a plank he deserves sympathy. How thick have you got to be to think this sort of gesture would go down well? He's not a kid he's 27 as well. Frightening ignorance and stupidity. He justified it by saying it was a private gesture to McCormick!? Again an unbelievably stupid comment! Yeah that's really private mate in front of 8,000 people and television cameras, which were used (in a premeditated gesture) by him to convey his solidarity to his equally thick mate.

Ipswich have fined him I see, and he's wrote a letter to the kids parents, how terribly brave of the thick twat.

Norris has just told Sky Sports that he did not make a handcuff gesture. sctatchinghead

Not quite sure what it was then?

Unless he is just a lying, inconsiderate prick?

If Norris had any sense thats what he would have said before first he said "it was a private message" and then later came out denying he did a handcuff gesture but refused to say what it meant

A similar thing was told by Spike Milligan in a Q sketch many years ago.

" I'm sorry I am late......but the flim of the flam has succumbed to the nibble of the flume....................a likely story indeed."
