Anyone stop up for it ?
I enjoyed it last night, but on reflection it came at least 5,probaly 10 years too late to be competetive.Jones has been too far up & down the weights too often & his strength & stamibna is too drained.
He showed his class in the firs & second but once Calzaghe dug in it was one way traffic.

Roy Jones was comprehensively outclassed and lets not forget that in terms of age, theres not much between them. Jones is nobodies mug having won eight different world titles but against one of the greatest boxers in history (Joe Calzaghe) he was found out.

Calzaghe is still not given the credit he deserves, the man has a perfect record and has fought everyone of note at his weights. He is up there with the Tommy Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonards and Roberto Duran's - if not way out in front of them.

They may be similar ages, but Roy Jones has been up & down the weights too often & has left himself drained.
Joe Calzaghe has always stayed at his natural fighting weight & in my opinion is every bit as fit & strong as he has ever been.
Having said that, take nothing away from Calzaghe,he put in a great performance is certainly one of the best boxers the world has ever seen & currently the best in the world at any weight

But he wouldn't have beaten any of them ,.The toughest fight he had was against eubanks who was not at his best ,add collins and benn...Joe hasn't had the roughest of fights

Oh do give over. IMO he would have beaten both Hearns and Duran, Leonard would have had the edge though.

Ah, there's me wrongly thinking that the idea of boxing is to hit without being hit when all along the aim of the thing is to get your nose broken. My thanks for putting me straight.

No probs.....Just a thought , would'nt he have been better fighting the likes of Unbeaten Chad dawson or Karl "FROG" Froch instead of all these " has beens " of late
