... she shouted from the drive, .... "get out here"...So I trudge out reluctantly, thinking, don't let it be something expensive  ... "What is it" I ask...THERE'S A RED WARNING LIGHT ON AND IT WON'T GO OUT  .... she bellows . At this point I pray it's not the oil pressure or something chewy..."There, look, that one"............ she says.
"That's the door closed light, have you shut the door since you got in the car?" I enquire. "Er .....no" she simpers. ..... She does and the light goes out. "There, no problem, haven't you noticed that before?" I ask helpfully. "NAH..... THEY'RE JUST RED LIGHTS TO ME" she playfully replies...........................

Orange engine warning light came on in my on the way home from work last night. Bloke at the garage reckons computer says that it's a fuel line problem, quite likely the lambda sensor so it goes in to cost me money on Saturday. Bloody cars.

At that stage it's often useful to light a petrol bomb and hurl it through the window.

'That's a light you need to understand, love...........'

Kev, womens logic, the other week in Amsredam for a laugh, I said "I love you" in Dutch, she smiled, like a shark and asked what it meant, she then said that's nice and made me repeat it continually..... I then overheard her telling the daughter that ..."he says it means I love you, but the buggers probably slagging me off"....... rolfl

All those canals Mr Snowy, the impenetrable silt filled waterways.......the transfer from a double to a single and the resultant cost saving.

What a missed opportunity....

but isnt the lamda sensor on the exhaust so i wouldnt have thought it would be that
mind lamda sensors have come down in price depending on the make of car they cost about £30/40 but the labour is a bit more than that

Aye, the one on my last A4 was on the exhaust but it cost me about £300 to get it fixed- this one is at a similar mileage. Dunno if I was overcharged like cos it took the clown in the garage in Oxy Road about 2 or 3 days to find the problem before he started fixing it. Now I go to a specialist place in Diddlesbrough so hopefully they'll be cheaper cos it'll be quicker for them and they might have bulk buy discount on the parts.
