The people in this thread saying 'Penney wouldn't go to Huddersfield';

Does the fact that this chairman who is backing him has publicly stated that he'll be out of the White Elephant in about a years time not have any significance to these dim wits!?

Jeff Winter has been hinting Penney is going to be off back to Yorkshire for months as well.

There's a new egomaniac in charge at Huddersfield, he'll want Terry Venables or someone not a workaday fourth division gadgie who hasn't done very well in the last two years. Remember Penney didn't do so well where we are, ergo got sacked. :wink:

I don't think they'd go for Penney, but for Darlo fans to believe that Penney wouldn't see Huddersfield as a step up rolfl

what terrifies me is that before we appointed wilson (and probably a little bit after) there were some fookwits on here (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE), who suggested Ternent as a good choice for our new manager, and slated Phil Brown as a clueless Geordie wannabe.

Penney is a class lower league manager as he prove at previous jobs and his current one. The job he's done down the road with very little funding is admirable. He's way better than Div 4 and could do very well at Huddersfield. He seems to have the knack that the likes of Cyril had; to turn average players into a good team.

The Loids in fairness generally agree with this.

Just 2 points,

a) He had a huge budget last season well above most teams in L2 and a lot of L1 if the rumours are to believed.
b) He can't half spot talented players to get in on loan, better than anyone I can think of in the lower leagues, his footballing contacts seem brilliant and his players seem to respect him.
