for his substitutions against Barnet, Danny Wilson deserves major credit for his changes today.

He hauled Robson off early and brought Eifion on who after two in the reserves looked like a new player. He then took off Gibb, our two weak links had gone. Brown and Williams did well.

If Ali Gibb plays on Monday though its a disgrace, he is awful. He can't even knock over a dead ball.

Wilson recognised who was playing poorly and changed it, and we won the game!

We deserved to as well, even before the red card we where easily the better team, altough they IMO will go down and play at he worst ground I ever been in, how they got the league with that is beyond me.

But would the subs have been as effective if they'd had 11 men?

Why did he choose Ali Gibb in the first place? Is the guy fit? He shows no signs of being able to run past anyone which, for a winger, is vital. I am disappointed with him. At least Foley can gallop.

this is what gets me about managers bringing in players that they have associated with in the past
they may have looked good then but when you bring them into a different situation they look out of their depth
it takes a good player to move to another club and become an instant success
of the three only Liddel seems to be making the grade and he has had a sticky patch

Boland is quality, as promised by the Cardiff fans.

He isnt as gung-ho as Sweeney or Liddle and doesnt have to be, he puts his foot on the ball, cuts all the play up in the centre and is certainly the UNSUNG hero in the Pools midfield.

I don't know what else he could have done to impress you, he's been our best player in the last half dozen games.
