9if their bloke hadn't spat at Nelson though, what would have happened? But, we have taken advantage of that for a change - if the players can't be ruthless against average teams then when will they be?

The stats, 17 v 7 shots , with 7 v 2 on target, seem to tell an all too familiar story.

the only problem I have with stats, is that they don't tell the whole story. A team could have fewer shots, but may have constructed the moves better to give better chances so that their shots had potentially more chance of producing a goal. The other team may have had more shots, but they might have all been from 35 yards going miles high and miles wide, or just trickling through to the keeper (which will count as a shot on target). They don't tell the whole story, of HOW the teams played. Possession is another anamoly. It's HOW possession is used and the quality of it, rather than the quantity. If a team spends a lot of the game passing the ball across the back four then they'll have more possession, but it means fuck all really. This was the crux of the Darlo fans' arguments the other week, and they were correct really about our true threat to their goal.

YES- the ONLY stat that EVER matters to football teams and their fans everywhere. The goals for and against. Everything else is just speculation

It may be a flash in the pan, but the way it is at the moment with Pools, live for the moment, be happy we have the win & a 4 place improvement in our league position
