Keep Sweeney where he is until we get a real right back. I think Nelson would be shit in any position at the moment.

Sweeney has been one of the most consistent players for me this season.

He's possibl the best header of the ball in the team, why do you want him a right back, heading nowt. Also he can't make a forward run for toffee.....

Apart from that............ sctatchinghead

It's the worst idea I've heard. A full back has to be comfortable on the ball and be able to link up and get past the winger.

If Nelse played full back the people in the Mill House and Cyril Knowles would have to turn up kitted out like American Footballers for safety reasons.

Nelson is comfortable on the ball , or he was until this season, whats went wrong is anyones guess. 3 years ago he was about the 6th best centre half in div 1, he is about 20th now.

He can't really pass it very well thought can he, his distribution has got worse and worse. If his form and confidence return we know we have a very good centre back. Just because he isn't currently playing well doesn't mean he's shite.

There have been plenty of contenders before, but that must be the stupidest idea I have ever seen put forward on this board.

I'd rather spend an evening trying to lick my own elbow.

That is a crazy suggestion! If he is looking pants as a centre half then he would be even worse as a right back. He is too slow, cannot pass and I cant see him flying down the wing and delivering a pin-point cross (unless it is to some bloke in the stand!)

This has got to be a wind up surely???!!! rolfl

He's never been comfortable on the ball, he's just got away with it a few times. When he hasn't it has cost us dear. He spoilt an absolutely fantastic day at Rochdale a coulpe of years ago when we could have won the League 2 title.
Fantastic atmosphere and build up to the match and what happens in the first couple of minutes? rage
Comes charging upfield uh uh I thinks. Sure enough, loses possession and who is covering for him? Tinkler who had hardly played all season, easily beat, then they go on and score. Uphill after that. The day was great, but the game was cr@p

The worst idea since Douglas Haig thought; 'lets have another go'.

Gary Liddle left back and try Micheal Mckay at right wing.
