Football match and when was it?

Mine was back in 1964, my old man took me to Highbury to see Arsenal and i think Sheff Utd ( I cheered for Sheff Utd). Arsenal lost and I never looked back. I hated them from day 1 and I'll hate them forever

Pools versus someone in about , yep, 1964. My old feller took me to Newcastle, Sunderland, Boro on many occasions but he took me to Pools first. I can't remember the opposition but I bet we leathered Darlo that year.

Pools vs Doncaster in 1990. All I can remember is that Mark Rankine scored for them, and that's only cos I was collecting Pro Set cards at the time.

Can't remember the score, although Elvis put me right when I sent him this in for the 'Exiled Fan' section a couple of years ago when I was in the Vaterland.

my father [spit] took me to see Boro v Liverpool [whom I supported in my childhood, and still reserve a soft spot for....] in about 1980/81 summat like that Liverpool won 1-0

I took Jack to his forst game about 4 years ago, now he's convinced we won 4-1, but my memory not being what it was hasnt got a clue as to opponents /score or owt!! madjohn? any clues???

anyways, I'm taking him to see Boro v Liverpool tomorrow...i promised him it at the start of the season, gutted it clashes with accrington as that was 1 of the few away games i'd pencilled in....ho-hum

If not the only other team we beat at home 4-1 4 seasons ago was Darlo, was it the promotion winning season then if not it wasn't this game. But we beat Swansea 4-0 that season as well

My family are from Middlesbrough originally and I was born in Stockton, moving to Hartlepool aged eleven months. This is the excuse for my guilty secret...
My stepdad doesnt like football. So because of my grandad I grew up supporting the Boro. He worked on the gates and used to let me sneak under them for free. I sat in the wooden stand til just before half time when he came and sat next to me.
Not sure if it was my first game (that was probably around 1977 or 8) but my distinctive memory is of Boro beating Villa 3-2, thus handing the title to Ipswich. Bosco Jankovic scored two.
I was easily spotted on match of the day because my mam made me wear a yellow caghoul.
There is even a photo of me wearing my first ever football strip - red with a white stripe through it :uhoh:
I started Pools about 1983 (aged 13) after my neighbour BILLY THE FISH had nagged me for about a year. We stood in the Rink End before the game and he shouted "This lad's a boro fan", thus humiliating me. We got hammered and I got hooked.
I feel like I have been to confession and pray you all forgive me

Not really, my memory is appalling; too many drugs in my twenties.
Though, having said that, maybe that was the reason....
