I'm a bit ashamed of myself sitting here nonplussed either way. Those last three goals don't hide the fact that the defence is appaling.

We can have a defence that lets in three goals if we have an attack that scores five.

I'm finding myself asking the same question as Saturday: Where did that come from ?

Whilst your enthusiasm is admirable, a team that concedes three goals every game will lose more thsn they win. Successful teams don't let in loads of goals.

I did but I wish I hadn't bothered. It was two extremely poor teams arsing about out there, I really have seen more quality on the Rec.

Mr Ripper was rather unlucky last night, he missed 4 of our 5 goals, he was doing the beer run for the second, and he'd decided he'd seen enough before we scored our last 3 and had gone home.

And i doubt he was in a minority of people sick of seeing the same old shite, we cant keep giving the opposition soft goals like we did last night (and the last ten games).

I rarely miss a home game, but last night i was there simply because i have a season ticket and felt it would be a waste if i didn't go.

I cant recall ever feeling so disinterested in pools as i am at present, Wilson has to go and IOR have to spend some money on the back 5 before we end up back in league 2.

Foooking ell what do you want. Only crowds of 3,500, 4 points off a play off place, Never Say Die from the players, loads of goals, plenty of entertainment. I give up

Given the quality we have going forward that's just about the most bizarre post I've read. Reading that sort negativity after a win like last night and given the pathetic attendance why the fook should IOR to spend some money? I think disinteresting is just about the last thing our home games are at the moment. We are leaking like a tap but when we get a sniff of Victory we are like a steam train. I had little doubt once we equalised that we'd win. I am unhappy with our away form that needs to improve but at home we are fantastic. Are you seriously telling me you weren't interested by that game!?

No i'm not taking the pee, however i shall try to explain.

I am pools through and through, but the fact our defence are leaking a stupid amount of SOFT goals leaves me feeling a little bemused at the minute, we all like entertainment but i would like to be entertained without giving the opposition a three goal head start.

yes we are exciting to watch going forward and look like we are going to score most times we do attack, however i feel the same whenever the opposition attack, i fear that we are going to concede every time they come forward, some of our defending wouldn't be out of place at a chipperfields circus, the only thing missing is the big red nose.

I will always give pools my support and the fact i have a season ticket means i will attend every home game and cash/work depending i will get my fair share of away games in, but at the same time i dont look forward to the games in the way i used to, and while danny boy is in charge i dont think i will again.

I aint asking for much, just for pools to look like they could win a match without coming from 2/3 down to do it, ie a couple of clean sheets at home would be a start.

Basically sort the defence out (spend money) and the forwards keep banging them in means we win games and put another 1/2k on the gate meaning more cash into the club. i believe its called speculate to accumulate.

you should start watching unopposed kick-abouts then.

i cannot possibly grasp the way you watch football if you can't enjoy thye last few home games.

I don't enjoy watching supposed professionals stroll around like they couldn't give a flying fk and making elementary mistakes which you'd be annoyed with under 11s for making, which is what about half of our team were doing for well over an hour on Tuesday night and I was paying for the privilege.

Did we have a shot in the second half before the penalty?

I don't expect us to win every game, I just expect to see us try and win every game. I want to see the players looking like they're arsed, is that too much to ask at £18 a ticket?

The Scott year/s.

Is anyone telling me that season was better than this one?? You don't even have to hark back to the Busby's and Moncurs. THREE seasons ago we were shite from front to back.

I'm puzzled as to what people want.

Moaning, bleating, old before their time men, who are never happier then when in the Mill House stand, berating players, spilling bile against their own team, knocking players, thinking they are as funny as fcuk, when in fact they are as funny as a burning orphanage with all the windows and doors nailed shut

Look, if you are bullied at work, or in the home, do something about it, instead of bringing it to the Vic, week in, week out, year in, year out, you all sound like Mr Chuckle, Leeds Poorly

Pointless?? POINTLESS??? f*** me, we've already got 17 of the c*** bastad things. We're on the edge of the play-offs man! I give up, I really do.

WTF? I was just stating that most people are feeling apathetic because that it's highly likely we're going to have another mid-table finish so although the games are very exciting, the feeling is that it'll mean little when we lose a couple of away games.

We're on the edge of the play offs and I am yet to be impressed by anyone in the last year and a bit of League one. If Wilson sorted the defence we'd have a fantastic season and make the play offs, until he does the games can finish 10-9 every week and people will still be unresponsive as it's feel almost meaningless as we're rather likely we'll lose the following away game.

Someone needs a holiday. :coool:

personally i cant wait for saturday.

Me neither, it's been excellent every week. We're two signings from making the play-offs which makes it so frustrating

If saw Pools draw 0-0 at the minute I'd be so excited I'd consider getting the old fella out.

I'd be as excited as Breedon after beating fourth division Bradford.

I'm f***' sick of it T.A.

I turn around and berate people at the match for less, yet I have to read worse abuse on here, a forum which I was one of the Founder Members. It's bollocks, absolutely shameful no-cock bollocks.

I'm f*** off.

I have to concur EAD

There seems to be a habit, nay trend, of people being slanderously abusive of players and management and other parties involved with the club.

What's wrong with the club

we're letting in goals
we're looking shaky at the back

What's right with the club

we're scoring for fun
we're mid-table and look comfortable

There's so much hyprocricy and rhetoric vomited all over here at the moment and it's childish and uncalled for.

People will slate some off, and then those in the team that they hold a torch for will not be touched not matter how they perform. Such a blinkered view.

ALB and Jan B may not be the best keepers in the world, but they're both nice guys and are committed to improving their game and therefore improving the club.

the defence is looking very shaky - collins and nelson do seem to have lost a yard or two and at times make senseless decisions, humphreys looks slow at times, and the right back seems to have sorted out now.

The problem that we find, irrespective of whether or not Danny Wilson (or the 40 or so wannabe managers on here) knows this, is whether or not he has a replacement within the club to cover these problems or not, and whether or not the money is their to fund any replacements.

midfield and upfront - we have an embarrassment of riches, which at times leads to errors of judgement with subs in my eyes, but we look pretty good in those positions.

Despite back to back wins we a great deal of cyber anger from people who should know better, fans blinkered and drunk still on the 'success' of the cooper years. They've gone folks, they might not be back and whilst we all wish they were as successful as those seasons, they were unique in what has been at the end of the day 100 years of struggle, when the club was either shite, skint or run by arseholes. We're not now and I for one am happy with were we are (maybe not all the decisions or actions on the pitch) and would of course like to see us do better, but we have to be realistic.

I have given up on here, the banter from people who should really find another output for their vitriolic diatribes other than posturing on the other side of a screen/keyboard, has dropped lethewards towards oblivion and it's no longer fun. The cutting edge that gave this board it's appeal has gone. It's turned from a mix of a comedy club and a swanky comfortable bar, to a mongrel cross between a youth club and a toilet in the raglan.

I don't get it. People who are so fookin quick to criticise and be crudely personal of players who DO try their best (it may well be that this isnt good enough) take immense displeasure in having some ironic humour thrown back at them or forget what they are about. You're meant to be fans/supporters of the club and team. You're not, instead of accepting that things are never going to be smooth in every game and trying to learn from a poor display and appreciate the finer points of the ninety minutes, you're on here giving it some. What the fook is this all about. You're not having a conversation with anyone, you're never going to get listened to by the people that count and in this case this is the club.

A lot of fans seem to have alienated themselves from the club. Yep things may not SEEM to be right, but what do you really know? So and So who knows so and so told me that so and so said this to so and so and that the club are wankers and that wilson is a twat and that collins is fooked and will never play again - ad infinitum. I don't know whats going on, i dont really care, all i want to know is that every other saturday for around nine months of the year we're playing at home and if i have the time to get to away games i will.

Rather than fooking around on here and annoying your poor little selves with wanting to out do the next cyberlord with your insults, think a bit. What would you say to the club if you had the chance? What if wilson and hodcroft contacted you and said come in i want to speak to you? How would you react? Most of you would be little pissy pussycats.

If you think so strongly that things are wrong at the club then be proactive and not reactive and get yourselves an agenda of gripes up on here and have the balls to approach them and see if they can spare you some time, to listen to a mature controlled discussion and answer your questions. Nothing along the lines of wilson is a 'lovely lovely person' cos he picks foley instead of mackay, woods is fookin shite because he trains the keepers etc etc. I'd love to see the club invite half a dozen people along for a chat, take them to training, see how much work goes into things on and off the pitch and show how much they care.

They do and they shouldn't have to take this type of shite of people who really don't fucking know.

The Bunker is flatlining and it needs the paddles on it's chest to bring it back to life, stand clear (and wait a long time..... sadx sadx sadx)

I'm getting the spitty out of the garage and going for a drive, i may be a very long time. confised confised

mind you i never thought i would see the day when katcha would post 500 words in one hit and not mention his new book.

its out next week and retails at the remarkably cheap £18.

ive read some of it and its fantastic.

its like a cross between tolstoy and the observer book of birds.

possibly the best hartlepool united book ever.

and its available from this week.

ive ordered a copy.

did i mention that it is only £18 ?

what a fookin bargain.

written by mr katcha.

with a teeny bit of help from his friends.

i gave him some excellent advice on the paul proudlock section.

which strangely enough is the best bit.

anyhow mr katchas book, 100 years of hartlepool united, covering every man, woman and child that ever set foot in victoria park/ground is out next week.

Does he call people racist in it?

Just a half please wrote:

Like Chip and PJ have said we are close to a very good side, but we will end up midtable, because of the errors and lack will to sort it.

That is why so many are pissed off. The pure frustration from knowing were only 2 signings away from being contenders but Wilson cant see it sctatchinghead

If we'd have conceded two in injury time I wouldn't have come on here at all as my head would have exploded.

To be fair though couldn't you say that every time you win? As at the end of the day that's all that's important whether you don't give the opponents a sniff and win by two goals or you ride the Pools style roller coaster. The end result is the same, 3 points. The league table doesn't have an * next to wins that says, aye but in seven of those wins they defended like a pub team.
