We are missing a vocal leader. Collins never opens his mouth.

Did anyone else notice him go over to the bench after the second equaliser last night and gesture to Wilson pointing at the back four. Wilson just seemed to push him away and tell him to get on with it but it would be interested to know what he was saying, it appeared he could have been asking to be put in defence sctatchinghead

How about putting Clark into the back four and moving Sweens back into midfield? Or putting Gary Liddle in as centre-half and dropping Nelson or Collins?

Don't be stupid that would make far too much sense.

clark was also having a go at alb after the 3rd goal. dont think it was about him not getting a hand to the free kick probably more to do with the positioning of the wall.

he is always the first one to go over to the away support after a game, win lose or draw, even if he isnt playing.

he seems very popular with the other players as well as the fans.

Who? Clark or ALB?

I agree, Ben Clark is one of my favourite Pools Players! Always seems to applaud the fans, As you say even if he doesnt play or not!

I always laugh when he practices Free Kicks pre-match and misses an empty net, But has a crack on with the fans in the Town End

And he was our best player last night, some of his passing was unreal. And he was closing down like no tomorrow.

On several occasions he was playing in defence last night, doing the job that either Nelson or Collins should be doing, and still covering his midfield role.

imho Sweens is much more productive in defence than in mid-field.
There doesn't seem any reason not to try Liddle as replacement for Nelse or Collins tho. (Gary L always looks desperately worried these days, doesn't he. The natural confidence he used to have when he first came is gone)

In the interview with Kevin Kyle on the bbc site he says that Clark is a natural leader at Pools or something along those lines.

I'd love to see the stats of how many goals we've conceded with him at centre half compared to when he's not there. I guess the difference would be unreal.

Two bits of excellent work from Clarky on Tuesday night; the dummy on the half way line after about half an hour which took two of their players out (I think he then played it to Browny which led to our first goal, if this had been Boland it would have naturally gone backwards) and in the second half he charged their midfield/defence down about 3 times in twenty seconds which summed up his workrate and eventually led to them only getting a throw in their own half.

What he actually says is that...' I know Ben Clark from Sunderland He used to think he ran the show there and he's no different here....'

He was saying that Jones was fooked and should he hang back or let Jones sit back. Wilson said for Jones to sit and Benno got forward after that.

Wilson was quiet for the game mind, he just seems to talk to whoever is clsoest to him. Was mainly Brown first half then monkhouse/robson 2nd half

It was after about half an hour, when Brown scored.
