where do i start???

they scored 3.

first one i didnt think was a free kick in the first place, but ALB was shocking and deserves a fucking slap for the way he watched it go in

second was initially a slip by Collins but nobody tracked their runner from midfield.

3rd goal was never a free kick, was well taken but i think ALB should have saved it.

in normal play the defense didn't play awful but were still pretty rubbish.

attacking wise we were awesome at times.

Kyle and Porter were outstanding. everything that has been said about Kyle over the last week was turned on its head tonight, he worked his nuts off, won loads of headers, held it up well, scored 2 goals and hit the post.

Wilson got his subs right too.

But boy oh boy do we need something doing with the back 5, and quickly.

Its a toss up between Kyle and Clark for MOM for me.

My ratings....

ALB 5 - Should have has both free kicks IMO.
Sweeney 6 - Turd at the back but good going forward.
Collins 6 - A better display but still not good.
Nelson 4 - Needs dropping.
Humps 5 - Made some decent tackles but stands off people too much when they run at him.
Brown 6 - Wasted on the right.
Clark 8 - A Powerhouse and he can play.
Jones 6 - Didn't seem to do much.
Monkhouse 5 - Should have gone off as soon as he took that knock.
Porter 7 - Quite quiet but got 2 goals.
Kyle 8 - Brought other into the game well and chipped in with his share.

A mention for Robson as well... Great cross for the 5th.

i thought Clark was outstanding in his role tonight, with a few games there he could become the 'new' Willie Boland/Mark Tinkler/holding midfielder type blokey

cant see how you can say they werent fouls for their free kicks mister b. i thought they were both dumb challenges. sctatchinghead

certainly kyles foul that led to their 3rd goal was more obvious than the one we got the penalty for.

the ref got loads wrong but no complaints from me about the free kicks. you have to ask questions about the defensive wall alb set up tho. not just for the 2 goals but the one near the end where dickinson hit the post.

it wasnt like he was bending them like beckham, they all seemed to go fairly straight.

maybe i was at the wrong angle but for the Kyle 'foul' it just looked like he stood his ground behind the attacker, could be wrong like, would like to see it again. Defensively for the free kicks we were poor though.

BRING BACK DIMI, and get a full back and we'll piss this league

To give ALB a 5 is generous is the extreme, why does he stand 5 yards off his line when they have a free kick 25 yards from goal? Doesn't that make things harder for him? I've said it for weeks he is extremely slow on his feet and is not of league standard, I'm not even sure he's any better than Budtz. That really is saying something. The defence deserve criticism but it's no coincidence that they've has been so poor since we didn't have an even half competent keeper.

There was a fair bit of swerve on the first, it was coming in my direction at first, but it was well controlled by Dickinson, the speed wasn't that great, so ALB should have had time to get somewhere near to it.
