...goes to Danny Wilson.

I doubt I will ever see us win a game in that fashion again. Scrape lucky 1-0s or 2-1s, but not like this.

We were shocking in the first half, and were lucky to be only two down. We could have pulled one back with a King Kev free header he somehow put wide. Nelson and Collins looked like they were playing in slow-mo.

Second half, and although we improved a bit, it seemed a question of when the 3rd Walsall goal would come.

Then THOSE substitutions. Like at Northampton, our main threat was coming down the left, even if it was just Monky's flick-ons from long ball shite. Fair play to Matty Robson, he ripped them to bits. But leaving Kyle on and taking Porter off for Foley was one of the rarfiest decisions I've ever seen.

So we pull one back, and all of a sudden Walsall heads drop. An absolute pearler from Robson and we look like salvaging an unlikely point. Walsall heads drop even further. A superb overlap and cross from Sweeney perfectly onto Browny's napper, and feck me, we look like winning.

We could have had even more than three if we had been more clinical on the break.

Special mention to ALB for a superb one-on-one save late on. I'll need to look at the goals again to see if he was culpable for either of them - possibly the first one.

I've no doubt Wilson will milk this one but we did not deserve the victory.

Kyle is not the answer. When we equalised he looked more interested and started putting himself about a bit. Too little too late, apart from the free header he had a comedy shot which almost went for a throw in. Spent most of the time gesticulating and shouting to Pools players, gave away free kicks, won nowt in the air, and was a waste of a shirt.

Kyle will probably start on Tuesday, even though Browny was back to his best when moved up front.

Sweeney and Humphries did well, as did big Ben. Joel was our most creative player, Browny virtually anonymous till the subs, and Foley didn't do much other than fluff a sitter provided by Robson.

I still can't believe we won, and as a bonus, the in-laws weren't here when I got home!
