PostPosted: Wed Oct 15, 2008 10:10 am
On Great North Run day I drove up to South Shields with some friends to watch the race, as 2 of our friends/relatives were in it.
The traffic was so bad and so mismanaged by the organisers that hundreds of cars, including us didn't get into the car parks in time to see most of the run. It was stop/start in great tail-backs for what felt like months, and at least 3 times we were stationery for so long that I turned the engine off. Finally my friends got out and walked the last mile and a half.
I've now got in my possession a speeding ticket for that day....for doing 35 in a 30mph limit

Speeding in a 30 zone is terrible. It's where you're most likely to encounter children on the road and seriously injure them if you hit them with your car.

You ought to hang your head in shame.

Mrs Grave was driving along easiington rd the other day and the cops had the speed camera van parked up on the proposed 'lidl' land adjacent to greyfields pointing down towards the powlett rd roundabout. She almost certainly got caught doing 35-40.

The van has also been on throston grange lane a lot lately.

So why the fkin hell was she doing more than 30? Deserves the fine really.

The vans have been all over the last few weeks, and they're finding more and more new sneaky spots, e.g. parking on the grass over the road of Tunny school and pointing at people coming round the bend from the park by West Park junction.

Can't argue with that Mr Half, any right minded sole would concur that it is madness to want or expect people to slow down their driving along Seaton front where loads of kids might be crossing the road.

when the speed limit changes there should ALWAYS be a section of road prior to the lower speed limit, say half a mile before the change down, where there are countdown markers to the new limit. Spend some of the speeding revenues on these signs and warn folks of the impending change in speed limit.
Not just a sign that says 30 as you go round a bend on a road which has a 50 mph limit or whatever.
In fact there's examples of notifying speed change limits, prior to getting to Newton Bewley or into Billingham from the old A19 road.
They won't do it generally because they like to catch people out.

You have to pass 2no. signs informing you of a revised limit before a fine is legal. That is why the signs on the A689 at Newton Bewley are there.

Anybody getting a ticket coming along the Tees Road into Seaton can challenge it and should win their appeal.

but 99% of folks don't and they just pay up don't they?
THEY know this, so they don't even try and put the signs up and try to keep that dosh as well.

I know it's terrible, which is why I always slow down when I see a 30mph sign. I didn't see one this time.
The only reason I posted the thing, I suppose, was the irony factor

These plod bastads are utter bounders and I really DO HOPE they die of horrific illnesses, and their families suffer badly.

They are not out to catch criminals but to fleece money out of hard working people going along their everyday business.

Any of you bounders that think differently should hang your pompous heads in shame.

And yes I suspect I was still slowing down from about 33mph to 30 when I went past the sign.

Bitter? You had better believe it. bounders EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM.

And the first person to call Dibble Pompous, is gay. And very very dumb.

I've said it before and I’ll say it again, pick up a dictionary or encyclopaedia and look under the entry for 'pompous', you will see a picture of dibble or whatever he calls himself this afternoon

And as for wishing policemen and woman and their families a painful death, I hope all brick counters dicks fall off

Fair enough?

I would suggest that anyone paying a speed camera fine wipe your arse on the cheque before you post it.

I wish I knew that the first time I was caught. Mr Half Pint's scenario was exactly how they got me. Which reminds me, I should be able to get those points of my licence now, it's over 5 years since it happened.

Fact: 3200 people die on the roads every year.

Fact: You cannot make money out of the shit staff that let the people die in hospital through being filthy

Point being is, I absolutely despise these conformist bounders who say stuff liike, 'well they must have done it for a reason.'

Yes they did, dopey, they didn't dare tax you any more so they found a way to fine everyone instead to pay for the legal bill when they are being 'tough on crime and tough on the causes of crime.' Problem is they aren't being tough on the cost of crime from the right side of the fence....they've even pised the lawyers off now.....

I wonder if people will now say in various contexts, "Aaah, but they've been removed for a reason.................."

There are 30 miles per hour speed around a lot of places, like schools congested streets etc, where I would never drive anywhere near that limit. You drive at a speed that is appropriate to the conditions.

It was at seaton front on sunday at about 12 noon.

Now I hate these bastads and heres why:

The camera was pointed along the front past the golf club towrads the power station.

It was about 100 yards past the 30mph sign. I have no doubt that the camera will have caught hundreds of drivers slowing down as they reached the 30mph sign.

You Dumb gay poof.

Oooh me ribs and such

No, not as energetic as that.....you just stand in one place along the route and the race runs past you.
(Same as watching a footy match when you think about it, with the space rarranged. I mean, if all the kicks in a match where placed end to end..... )
