Quite a few of the players didn't like him did they?

Well that's a yes from me, as he is a winner. Non of our players are shite I think what is missing is that something 'extra' that we had under Neale Cooper (who the players by all accounts didn't like). Danny Wilson is too much of straight down the middle standard football manager to ever do really well at Pools we need a character.

No, definitely not.

Watson was without any doubt the worst influence on Hartlepool United in living memory.

In what way?

To us, the fans he was someone who seemed to be a born winner second is nowhere to him. The players may not like him and IF he was to become a manager that would be fantastic. He owuld not accept the kind of performances we are putting in and heads would roll.

He signed when we were bottom of the football league in November scored 18 mostly brilliant goals as we reached the play offs then the next season we won promotion at a canter, had we had a fit Watson we'd have pissed the league.

More bad influences please.

I can accept that he isn't manager material but that comment is ridiculous.

In all sorts of way. The bloke was a trouble causer, a union man in the dressing room. He had the dressing room against the new manager before he even started. 'This bus drives itself' etc.

He instilled a bad attitude that still lingers today.

Would we under the leadership if him be on this shocking run of away form?

No offence but you think Barrett has only been at fault for 1 goal this season. Not many will take anything you say seriously after that.

I'm with Mr.I on this one.

He was great on the pitch, but definitely not manager material

With due respect that's a load of rubbish, the players liked Newell and the majority of them didn't get on with Watson, apart from Boydy!

I respect that he isn't probably manager material but the to state he was the 'without any doubt the worst influence on Hartlepool United in living memory' is quite frankly laughable.

Sorry, I can't take anyone seriously who defends Humphreys as a left back.

Are you referring to me?

I've being saying for ages that the full back positions are a massive problem, just because I don't constantly single out an individual obviously means I'm defending him!?

I think we certainly need a stronger leader though, Butterworth seems to get off lightly in the criticism stakes but he (an Ex very good defender) hasn't really guided many of the current crop to any real progression as players has he?

It's all too nice we need a bad cop on the scene!

The last decent 'coach' we had at the Vic was Popular Robson
