Ive just been reading a article about the "Metropolitan Black Police Association" and the "National Association Of Muslim Police", now i thought that it didnt matter if your white, black, yellow or green if your a police officer that is what you are and your colour or race doesnt come in to it. Is that not just causing a divide?

This is not a new subject.

A lot of people aren't thinking this through. This is Britain. People are white by default. So whites don't need special associations.
But minorities have issues and therefore take the initiative of organising themselves to address these issues. Simple as that. If there were no issues there'd be no minority associations.

Put it this way: would you object to an association of diabetic policemen?

but a copper is a copper no matter what the colour or race is so why try and divide the police force up into black and white because that is what its doing and a lot of black serving officers dont agree and wont join it

One of the ethnic police groups is supposdly taking out newspaper adds to advise ethnic minorities not to join the force as "it's riddled with racism" I believe.

To me it's just doing the same sort of thing as HUDSA, set up for people who have issues that the majority don't. No trouble at all getting my head round that. I seriously don't think their goal is to cause a schism.
