Why?

We're letting in more than the UK Border Police do and the clueless mong would rather play his favourites than address the problem.

It's only the start of October, though. It's about this sort of time we went on our unbeaten run that took us to promotion last year.

Still plenty of points to play for.

For God's sake, give the bloke a chance, he's shown his loyalty to the club helping us win promotion.

We're only SIX points off a play-off place, EIGHT points off automatic if like me you want to be really optimistic.

Well, to be honest I'd rather have one promotion and maybe a couple of years of mid-table stability rather than us becoming a yo-yo club at worst.

Sweet baby fcuking Jesus and the orphans.....

Loyalty doesn't come into it, it's his job for bounders sake.........

And how has he shown his 'loyalty' to us, I can't recall him being offered a job elsewhere

Serious question.... do you talk under water......?

But how the fook has he 'shown his loyalty' by helping us get promotion? That's an inexplicably radged comment, he's paid (very well) to do a job. I think at the moment someone else could get more out of this group of players, it's a more talented group on paper than Neale Cooper or Chris Turner ever had to work with. His signings have led to us having a totally unbalanced squad.

I'm not spitting venom at the bloke or anything at times we play some nice stuff and it's not as if he embarrasses us by not conducting himself properly, he has a good name in the game, but I think we can be doing better. Some of those players are in comfort zones that they really need shaking out of, is Wilson the man to do that? Or do they need a change of face? I feel things are going stale, which is dangerous.

I go to plenty of games that I can get to - any game else I listen to Pools World for the commentary. I know what's going on.

Sounds like he's got to do is find a good defender and that should help succeed.

Seeing as I go to university, I should know what I'm talking about.

I totally agree with what you said in the 2nd paragraph there, PJ.

Maybe we should be looking to bring somebody in in the January sales, but I am totally satisfied with the job Wilson is doing at this early part of the season.

For the second succesive home game, we have scored three goals (yes conceded three) but think back to the old bad days when we weren't able to score any and we got thumped every week.

Oldham and Swindon are two valuable points, yes we probably should have got three against Swindon but it's swings and roundabouts, and points make prizes !!!!!!

How is the Pools World Commentary biased ?

Alright, he's a club commentator but he should be fair and Mark Simpson is that normally.

No, we're just trying to have a civil conversation, but every time I try to have a civil conversation with you, this is how it almost ends up. No need for Talbot to get involved, like.

Alright, I'm sorry I said it but it shouldn't distract from the topic at hand.

You know I was listening to David Moyes yesterday talking about the ridiculous culture we have in this ountry that a manager who does not seem to succeed straight away, the Club gets rid of him.

In this case, only fools would rush in to sack Wilson now and we could have somebody else who would take us down, whilst if we'd stayed if Wlson, we would be thingking of what might have been.

Let's not let something like that haunt this Club.

LOL PoK, just give up!!!! Nobody takes what you say seriously. You re just digging a bigger hole for yourself. Some of your comments defy belief to be honest. I know that I often try and fish for a 'bite' on this board to generate a bit of a debate and some craic but you cannot honestly beleive what you say. If you do then I despair, you obviously have little or no knowledge of fooball.

Apologies if this offends you but you are indeed a clown.

OK I'll answer one of your points rather than call you names:
"Straight away" is not a term you can reasonably use in the context of Wilson.

I'm sure there's someone on the bunker who can confirm that Wilson is actually one of the longer serving managers in the country.

ok here is my 2 penneth.

We haven't done BADLY this season, although the last few games have raised some serious concerns that need sorting ASAP.

Attacking wise we are a top 8 team, defensive wise we are a bottom 5 team. and thats where the problem lies.

We have 5 players who 'can' play full-back and every single one of them are midfielders, 3 of them 'attacking' ones.

Wilson clearly is tied to a lose one before we bring one in system. Hence the Budtz issue in pre-season and the Barker/Kyle transfer thats just happened. I know everyone (including myself) claims a defender is priority, and i'm sure Wilson isn't stupid enough to not know/ ignore this. But the one question NOBODY knows (apart from people inside the club) is HAS he tried to get better defenders/GK's in?

Has he? Do any of you know? yes or no?

Me? i haven't the foggiest. Although what i do know is, he tried to get a different (notice i didn't say better!) Keeper in during the summer and was only thwarted by the collapse of the Budtz loan.

So yes he has noticed the problem GK wise. Obviously he would like to get Dimi back but the chances of that are slim for many different reasons.

Defender wise, who could he have got shot of in the summer in order to replace them with better players? (please don't say Robson or Foley as they will be on peanuts and it would be nigh on impossible to replace them with better for the same money)

Boland? Glad he didn't, he is the main man (when fit)
McCunnie? possibly
Humphreys? doubt Hodcroft & turner would have allowed DW to get rid
Sweeney? Useful player

the squad only has 3 recognised defenders, and a few players who can patch it up (humphs et al)

i read the rumour Humphs may be loaned out to Port Vale.... thats another indication that Wilson is looking to better the squad, but its not easy loaning out players that nobody wants!

myself and Chip (he played at a reasonable level) have both said we are (in theory) only 2 players away from a squad capable of making the playoffs) so we aren't THAT bad.

the defense WONT let in 3 goals every match and we will probably do better than last season.

Not one person can claim that the football (at home) hasn't been better than last season, so it has improved.

Away form is still shite and will continue to be whilst we continue to let goals in.

I know i'm waffling so i will say this to sum it up........

This season looks as if it will be better than last, so therefore its (albeit not a lot) progress.

thats what we asked for isn't it?

Wilson in (for now)

I thought personal abuse wasn't allowed? Whatever your opinion of PoK, why resort to personal stuff? I think Wilson should stay but we need the defence sorting out as a matter of urgency.

I've no idea but I don't resort to abuse like you. Do you get a big bonk on when you are being negative?

I was impressed by misterb's analysis. A very refreshing change from some of the supposedly banned (as pointed out by Mr Obsession) personal abuse (bullying perhaps?) in this thread, which has made me wonder whether it's worth continuing to come to this site.

What type of message board do we want this to be? I vote for the type of discussion illustrated in misterb's post.
