It's PoolS. Always was. Always will be. Nothing has happened to change that.

"Pool" can be Liver or Black but not Hartle, never, NEVER!! It's an appelation used by lazy journos or thick darloiqs.
Or ignorant Poolies.

Sorry Mr. Head, I admit I got it wrong, missed the last letter of during typing, I acknowledge it does make a difference but it shouldn't make me any less of a Poolie for one slight error.

This is OUT OF ORDER!

I actually feel ashamed at this error by PoK!

I'm ashamed to be a pools fan, i'm ashamed to even be associated with him.

This is a dark day for HUFC!

This crime is akin to pissing on the badge.

It's a guilty from me. I'd give two choices of punishment;

1) Death by hanging

2) A trip with Darlo Pete and his thermos flask to Cardiff to watch 'Franz' play.

The board has decided your crack is so shit, you do not have the right to defend yourself.

So your guilty.

You have disgraced the good name of HartlePOOLS!

What kind of a trial is it where the defendant doesn't have the chance to argue his case ?

It's like being under Saddam Hussein here.

In that case we can probably show some leniency in sentencing and not make him spend the day with Darlo Pete.

Would you prefer to hang or be burned POK?

When I wrote said post, I was not aware that I had unintentionally lest off the S of 'Pools. Indeed it should really have an apostrophe in front to show that another part of that same word is missing when it has been written there. If you haven't been pedantic about the apostrophe, the plural S shouldn't have caused a big uproar. I acknowledge that the mistake does have historic and cultural importance but...

Exhibit A, my lud.

Name of football club from 1977-2008 (now - more important): HARTLEPOOL UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB
Name of football club from 1908-1968: HARTLEPOOLS UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB.

Seeing as the club have changed their name and the club have had this name for 29 years and this is the name that I have grown up with, I use HARTLEPOOL UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB, so it should be UP THE POOL ! singular.

To be politically correct the old nickname of 'Pools died in 1977, so in terms of catching up with time UP THE POOL ! should the be the correct excalmation.

I rest my case, your honour. Open and shut.

With a genuine mistake, you might just have been let off with a stoning, but to try and then justify it as being correct has just signed your death warrant. BURN HIM!

P.S. You are wrong about the apostophe as well.

I think this trial is over before its begun, with Mr.Kents confession of ignorance and subsequent poor attempt at justification and his foolish disregard for representation there can only be one decision.
right?

So, by justifying the use of the word "Pool" instead of "Pools", you are actually admitting you lied about it being a mistake!
