i want to go on record saying that if we get the ball in the box, kyle will score some goals for us. he will be immensely useful away from home and we'll sign him full time in january.

we will be in much the same situation as we were in with duffy. if he catches fire and scores goals he will get snapped up by a bigger club with more money.

if he plays shite we have a chance of signing him but may not want to.

its always the way with loan players, danns and betsy were the same.

its very rare we get someone on loan who plays really well and ends up coming to us full time. can think of only mickey barron of the top off my head tho there will be more.

i agree although the one 'chink of light' is that his son lives up this way and seems very happy to be back in this neck of the woods. all depends on wages i think

Andy Monkhouse?

But point taken, one things for sure in the current climate I can't see him getting £8,000 a week anywhere. He signed for Coventry for £600,000 after playing in the Premiership his next move is going to be for about £50-£100,000 in January or nothing in June. He isn't going to be able to command a large wage unless he sets the heater alight for us, a win win situation really.

Can I just point out that I meant "Set the heather alight" and not set the heater alight, that would be radged... even by a jocks standards.

Whether it's setting the heater alight or setting the heather alight, fire raising either through negligence or arson is highly irresponsible behaviour which should not be encouraged. By the way, does everybody know where the fire exits are?

Well it looks like he's upset a couple of people at Coventry with his comments.

Ranson has rubbished the 27-year-old's claims, and says the decision to loan Kyle out was made purely for footballing reasons.

He told the Coventry Telegraph: "The fact is he (Kyle) doesn't figure in the manager's plans - full stop.

"I am disappointed that he's gone out on loan and yet again said things that don't do him any favours. We have recently paid out instalments for Leon Best and Elliott Ward and have got no issue with doing that - so his situation has got nothing to do with future payments."

Manager Chris Coleman added: "Kevin Kyle was not in the team because I spoke with him in the pre-season and explained that he wasn't going to fit in with what we were going to do and our style of play. He has gone to Hartlepool on loan and good luck to him."
