Port Vale are believed to be interested in signing Derby's Wales international Robbie Savage, who is available on loan, reports BBC Radio Stoke.

The managerless Valiants have contacted the Rams about a possible deal but it is thought they cannot afford to pay their part of his £25,000-a-week wages

No shit!

very sad that somebody so average at his job gets to be paid as much money as he has been.

Yes I'm bitter about people like him, and yes, it's begrudged.

parmopooly - The goal keeper in your picture. Did you know he never played a single game in 1990/1 and was only put in the pre-sesson picture because pools never had a keeper. yawn1

On Savage ! Hes made his ££££ out of the game, so he cant be that daft..Limited skill but loaded.

He lost his fingers in a slapper the week before the season started?

He's playing for Ryhope this season, thats the keeper and not Robbie Savage.

I would guess it's either him or his son, I am not sure what year he was playing here, this is from earlier this year.

Two minutes into the second half Ryhope’s centre half Ben Andrews turned sharply at the edge of his own area and collapsed in agony as his leg went under him. It was obvious he couldn’t continue and he had to be carried off the pitch.

On 62 minutes Teesside had an appeal for a penalty turned down after substitute David Stewart seemed to stop David Brown’s cross with his hand. Four minutes later David Stewart sent a free header wide from Lee McMahon’s corner.

With five minutes remaining Teesside’s Billy Millington dribbled his way into the box past two Ryhope defenders but couldn’t find enough power to beat the keeper.

Three minutes into injury time Teesside’s Steve Hodgson fired in a 20 yard shot but keeper Chris Errington was equal to it.
