I'll be going to Carlisle and I'm going to Orient so if went to Northampton and missed Walsall it would mean I'd seen 5 away games out of 6 which given our away form over the last 12 months is enough to send anyone over the edge. So I'm not going to Northampton for the good of my health.

I think you should only play friday night games against someone who is quite local so the away fans can get there. (About 2 hours away)

I really carnt see Swindon bringing more than 200 tomorrow and i agree that we will only bring 150-200 to northampton.

Have a look at the vast majority of games involving Pools playing on a Friday night

Swindon at Pools', Pools at Northampton, Southend at Pools Northampton at Pools', Pools at Southend. (Pools at Scunthorpe being the exception, but then again that is played on Boxing day)

They all involve a long trip, more beneficial to the away team in that they dont have to stay overnight. They can travel early morning Friday arrive to have some rest, play the game and travel home through late evening/early morning. This means a saving on hotel accomodation, which they undoubtably would have to pay if played at 3pm on a Saturday. And saving on not having to have a coach for 2 days.

Taking into account the fans, is I'm afraid secondary, in that the club playing away (especially in the lower leagues) realise they wont take many fans on a long trip even on a Saturday. The away team also know they're not getting any of the gate receipts. Hence Pools' and other teams will always attempt to get a long trip moved to a Friday. Its financial common sense.

Therefore your wish to have only local games played on a Friday, will in my opinion never come to fruition. Nice thought though.

Take your point ,chip. Games will be moved due to internationals.

But the rest go with my suggestion of cost saving. Look at a lot of Friday fixtures I reckon 90% will involve a team making a long trip.

A couple of us southern based Poolies are planning to be there. I take it that you can get tickets on the gate?

There are lots of exiles who live within an hour or so of Northampton, so I reckon 250+, maybe more if we win tonight.

Half hour walk, done it before. Don't do it Chip, it'll kill you.

I'd go via Birmingham myself to get there but don't think they'll have one late enough back

Corner Flag will take a bus - all be it a small one - if enough are interested. Need to know tonight.

Personnally - hate friday games - home or away - if England are playing - change kick off time !! but as already mentioned - most friday games this season for us will penalize fans who work monday - friday. Others it will cost half a days holiday.

As usual - always thinking of thier supporters - NOT!!!!
