the thing that goes against Barker is the fact he is TOO slow. You can be a big, slow, target man - but there is a limit as to how slowly you can get about a football pitch, to the point where even if the ball is played five yards away you still can't get it!!!!

I think the signing of Kyle will also suit the system we have recently played away from home (basically one of those 4-5-1 formations that's meant to be 4-4-3 when you have the ball) Kyle is far more suited to playing as the out and out front man leaving Porter left of him and Brown right, now that my friends could just work. I'd have Monkhouse Jones and Sweeney as the midfield three and Liddle at right back. This easily changes to a 4-4-2 at home by just moving Brown right.

were the mackems who claimed kyle was a plank saying that when he scored the goals to get them in the play-offs, or just since he left the club ?

if we'd signed windass, who seems to be the popular comparison, would people be moaning.

i demand answers and i goddamn demand them now. please.

Doesnt weaken our squad no but weakens and ruins our team when he plays yes.

To play Kyle means Nelson and co suddenly have an excuse to hoof high pointless balls. Do we want to change how we are playing when we have possession? No cos things are fine in that department. We pass it well and look dangerous when the ball is on the deck, when its in the air-we may aswell not bother. I hope im wrong but I can see high balls and us continually giving the opposition the ball back.

He "ruins our team when he plays" on the day he signs on loan over 50 hours before he's even had a chance to kick to a ball for us.

Fooking priceless rolfl

change it to "any target man" if you wish. Nothing personal agaisnt kyle but we want the ball on the deck, its what we do best and what has lead us to averaging 3 goals every home game or whatever.

And why the fuck are we bothering sorting out deals for strikers when we are FUCKING DESPERATE for 2 full backs and a keeper?

I know its competition for places but id rather see Wilson putting his effort into sorting the problem areas? sctatchinghead

In the last four seasons Dean Windass has scored the following goals; 15, 20, 20, 28 and has scored 200 goals in his career.

Kyle has scored 3, 3, 1 and 1 and has about 20 career goals.

Spot the difference!

The pretty football has won us fook all away from home for a season and a bit. Neither of our forwards have even scored away in the league this season, Kyle's presence isn't going to stop Porter and Brown being good footballers. Hopefully the centre backs will kick the shite out of Kyle and give Porter and Brown more space to play.

You could always say a player has 'ruined' yes 'RUINED' our team before he even steps foot on the pitch, but that would be just stupid, wouldn't it??

As long as Porter and Brown play on friday i will be happy..... Kyle may slot into the system very well....... As for Nelson not hoofing it, you have no chance no matter who is in the team, the only passes Nelson complete's are when he passes back to the keeper.....

Agreed, but wouldn't you also say we knock a hell of a lot of good crosses into the box and don't do a great deal with them?

Agreed mate, but if it means dropping or moving either Porter or Brown then im against it.

If we had a shit striker starting every week then great signing, but if he is contemplating dropping one of them two then he is even more beyond help than I thought.

Nope, it's that Windass had to drop down to the third division to score those goals - which is my whole point and surely not that hard to see!

But the analogy has to stop there. We shouldn't expect Kyle to score ten in a month because unlike Windass he has never joined a lower league club on a permanent transfer and therefore never had the chance to bed in.

To be honest I can't see him achieving much in a month and I can't see us signing him permanently. So perhaps it's not that great a signing after all.
