I've got a feeling you're going to regret spelling beaking wrong!! Just wait till Gravedisorder finishes his homework and comes on here to play....

Stupid signing in my opinion. Absolutely needless.

I think it's far from needless. Especially if we are going to start getting results away from home, our squad is painfully thin. Are you telling me the likes of Mackay, Foley, and Robson would get in the 16 of the better sides of this division? Are you telling me that they are going to make an impact against the likes of Leeds and Leicester? Kyle is a big, hard. horrible bastard something we are lacking.

Anybody who is going to make our team or bench stronger is a long way from 'needless'.

i con-fooking-cur

he is a player who has (albeit in the past) performed very well in the Premiership & Championship. He has played for Scotland, and at his best, is WAY WAY better than this level.

IF it happens then i will be chuffed. My only concern is that we will start playing long ball stuff.

As it stands only the centre backs have any meaningful competition for a place in the eleven in the shape of Ben Clark. With Boland being injured the eleven picks itself which is not a healthy position to be in. If we aren't going to struggle a couple more in would be nice as well in the name of a keeper (another Coventry loanee would be nice!) and at least one full back.

Don't get me wrong, I am sure he will have his uses and he'll be better than the likes of Mackay and Foley but they will come at a cost.

At present this cost should be put towards improving the areas where we are struggling the most; full backs. The fact that Wilson is not looking at different options over improving these two areas is a massive concern.

My comments were nothing to do with the ability or non ability of Kevin Kyle as I don't know much about him other than he used to play for Sunderland and that the Mackem supporters at my work thought it was hilarious when we got linked with him. He will be a good addition for away games though I have little doubt of that

I'd sooner we signed two full backs than a striker that has scored 7 league goals in the last 8 years, that's all I'm saying. banghead

Also, do you really think he has 'premiership and championship goalscoring pedigree'? The stats would strongly suggest otherwise.

If he gets a run of games at this level he'll add something different to our team.

So whos Danny going to leave out then? cos i wouldnt leave either out for him. Unless he plays Browny on the right and leaves Sweeney out?

Danny probably plans to see how he'll get on at right back.....

That's up to him but not having any competition for your shirt does nobody any favours does it? At the moment apart from Barker and Ben Clark (and Boland when fit) outside of the starting eleven we have nobody who is good enough to be playing in league one.

But that article states that he's been chasing Kyle all summer, Why? Surely he should have been chasing a couple of full-backs. Yes, its comptition for places, but at least we have options already up front, we have practically no options at the back.

Precisely. Given the standard of the divison, two decent full backs would see us left with a good defence, a strong midfield and a very good strikeforce. It would push us towards the play-offs and we'd have a pretty good season. Surely Wilson can see this?

I must have mixed him up with the Kevin Kyle from my Footy Manager game

i'm delighted to say that i have not viewed a minute of these so called football games on any computer ever.

they are, by definition, wank and for saddoes who should really get themselves on the rec on a sunday morning in january and not ponce about "in the gym" playing gay five-a-side and then listing 'footy' as one of their hobbies. twats.

just my opinion like

I think its more likely he will stick to his 4-5-1 formation away from home with the one big forward up front.

Yep. Sweeney will be right back, Brown on the right and Kyle up front if this rumour turns out to be true.

As for questioning why DW has been chasing strikers instead of full backs, do we really need to answer that? Surely it's because he sees Sweeney and Humphreys as his first choice full backs cos he thinks that they'll do.

And maybe, just maybe, he is after a centre forward cos he's planning ahead and is under the impression that Porter won't extend his contract at the end of the season?

If this is the case (and obviously it is only an 'if' at this stage) then it'll be proof that Wilson needs replacing as he'll never take us forward.

We're playing good football but we're leaking goals. There is only three positions that need strengthening in my opinion; full backs and keeper. If Wilson starts messing about with other areas then it'll undo all of the good work from the first two months and we'll be back to square one.

The beauty of signing him on loan though is that we can send him back after a month if it doesn't work out. So, I think Kyle is worth a punt - if we had signed him permanently then that would indeed have been a risk.

Is there any evidence Wilson has not tried to get some full backs in?

Hopefully he'll be superb at this level.
We have 5 strikers in the first team squad (Porter, Brown, Barker, Mackay, Foley) but none of them have the experience Kyle has from the levels he's played at so hopefully he'll add something else to the team.
