that thread go about every Muslim being more or less sympathetic to Al-Qaeda? Or the musings about how women wouldn't have freedom if Islam took over Britain, even though it blatantly wouldn't happen?

It was getting interesting, that.

It seemed to be getting into a free-for-all tar brushing only rivalled by the concept of a Jewish international financial conspiracy.

I'd like to see it come back instead of getting deleted, unless people are covering for their mistakes

i didnt delete the thread personally, but i felt it had gone further than it should.

Good post Chip.

I realise that administering a board like this with it's diverse array of topics can often be a thankless task and sometimes threads can go too far. But an explaination of why a thread has been removed helps in keeping things above board, otherwise it can be open to the (not unreasonable) assumption that TGP came to.

I also realise that as admins it is your board and you can therefore do with it as you like but this is, in my opinion, the best Pools board around. It would be a shame if topics can be removed on a whim without explaination.

Keep up the good work

however if anyone wishes to start a contentious political thread based on something they allege is factual, a good starting point is always a link to the story itself, or at least the source of the information. then at least we can have a sensible debate on its merits.

nobody has an issue with that.

its a message board and strong views and counter views are its lifeblood.

however if anyone simply wants to have a moan about there being too many niggers or muslims in this country, or state that all white men are infidels and its acceptable to blow up tube trains full of passengers, then there really are plenty of websites where you can do this to your hearts content. and you will probably find lots of folk what are like minded.

in the meantime rest assured that threads will only ever be pulled where the moderators feel the thread contains comments that are potentially libellous, breach the guidelines set out for posters, or to give posters time to relect on a thread we feel has degenerated into a pointless and ugly slanging match and where insults are being traded.

Thanks for the explanation Chip. I'd've done the same thing, personally.

I just find it a bit ironic that one of the two main contributors was the board's operator.
