Absolutely crazy to try and involve Iran.

That said, the only way out of this mess is for an entirely Arab army to take over from the coalition forces. We are the problem not the solution.

Ah but now his Lord and Master across the pond has about as much power as a 40watt bulb, he needs to cover his murdering arse some other way doesn't he?? If people start asking questions about war crimes and unjustified invasions and bombing raids and dead civilian numbers while they're interviewing him on the cash for peerages issue, it could just be arse squeaking time for Mr Blair.

iran and syria have a vested interest in avoiding the iraq situation spilling over into civil war.

syria have been making all the right noises about coming back into civilsed society. the uk also have a relatively good relationship with iran. british diplomats in these countries ( particularly iran) have good channels of communication with their rulers and its actually one of the few things we do well.

personally i feel thats its much better talking to these people and encouraging them back into the fold, rather than bombing them.

Jaw Jaw and all that, unless its the French!

Its almost as fucking stupid as following the americans there in the first place although there seems to be very few options available. In future the USA should be just let be to fight their own corrupt shitty little agendas......

Dirty wars to get dirty oil ...everyone gets on their high horse....but never wonders where their lifestyle comes from and how it's maintained. EVERYONE bleats until their 'lifestyle' is affected... It's called 'realpolitik' not very nice, but preferable to the alternative.

speak for yrself. i have never owned a car. i have taken two return air flights in the last 7 years. oil is over rated.

and i think in 30 or 40 years time iran will be seen as a model democratic middle eastern state. they are a lot further down the line towards democracy than the saudis ( where most of the 9/11 crew came from) but of course we like the saudis despite their appalling human rights abuses because they are oil friendly.

So how does the food arrive at the supermarket, the clothes on your back are made from oil and if not they are transported by it, drugs are made from it and so on

i dont agree with asda flying food from the other side of the world that we dont even need if thats what yr getting at.

and i just happen to believe that the iraq invasion was more about oil than human rights.

but i could be wrong. dno have just sunk their first wells in northern iraq and reckon they are going to make serious bucks for their shareholders from it so some money may trickle down to pools.

one thing i do know is that iran is a much more democratic country and more open to change than a lot of the very dodgy countries out there we are pally with. their democatically elected government, which includes women, is trying to reduce the influence of the religous nutters that have run the country in the past. this is a slow process but one that should be applauded and recognised.

Iran isnt democractic, if you dont tow the line, you are in the jug

If it is trying to 'reduce' the nutters, how come their leader has called for the wiping of Israel and all Jews from the planet?

...he also denied the Holocaust ever happened. Back to the oil though and the subject of realpolitik....because that's what ir's all about, the lifestyle you lead. owning a car is just a tiny part of the picture ..... for example, if you like music , forget it, where does your CD come from, it aint made from butterflies pubic hairs, it's made from oil as are most of the things we all use in our daily lives.

this stuff we have been pumping from the north sea and that is currently avaialable on a global scale to buy is called oil. theres no denying we need it but as it becomes more scarce are we just gonna go round invading every country that still has it, carpet bombing innocent women and children along the way.

expecting iran to meet western standards of democracy is like expecting the poorest african nations to supply electricity to every one of its villages. iran will develop a democratic goverment before most middle eastern countries. i aint saying its perfect but its a hell of a lot better than countries like sudia arabia who we are in cahoots with.

bear in mind it aint that long ago in the grand sceme of things that we were trading in slaves, or that america was lynching folk without trial, or stalin was exterminating his own people.

10 per cent of the voting population of this country support the policies of the anti semitic bnp. the fbi in america monitor what books people take out of the public libraries, and dont even get me started on guantanamo bay. after all bush and blair told us they had overwhelming proof that the iraqis had womd and when a bloke pointed out that they almost certainly didnt he winds up dead.

we can involve iran in resolving the iraq situation or we can leave bush and blair to oversee the collapse of iraq into civil war and keep on counting the lads coming home in body bags. its about time they accepted that the killing folk way of doing things has gone tits up. again.

Iran is still ran by a dictator who despises the Jews and will stop at nothing to erade them., ring any bells Chip?
